Winger

So I saw Winger and FireHouse in concert Saturday night in Philadelphia. It was a great show. Both bands sounded great. But in leading up to the show I pulled out Winger’s albums and listened a bunch. This group is criminally underrated. Kip played the pinup boy toy, and Beavis & Butthead tore them up, but they have some killer songs in their discography. Their set list was incredible. Feels like I’ve rediscovered an old friend.

I think with a different (better) name and without the ballet spinning they would've gotten more respect.

Winger is a solid band. In the Heart of the Young is one of the most underrated glam metal albums ever.

Kip really is a good player and has good player around him. Too bad Pull isn't what they're known for, great bluesy hard rock.

I never minded the name.  It is no different than calling a band Dokken.  It was someone in the band who would be the face for that band.  It worked for me.

However, the band originally wanted to be called Sahara.  Alice Cooper, who Kip started out playing for until he quit to focus on Winger, told them that their name stunk and they should call themselves Winger.

I adore Pull + Karma!
