Re: Where are the christian progressive metal bands?!
Ha! That's TWO albums buddy, one is an EP Oh, and I did mention you guys in my original post.franz87 wrote:Andreas89 wrote:Name an active christian prog metal band with more than two albums released.
I cannot. For power metal it would not be a problem though. And power metal is also a niche. But maybe a more popular one?
We (S91) released 3 albums:
- Sto per tornare 2009 (EP)
- Volontà Legata 2011 (full album)
- Behold the Mankind 2016 (full album)
We are writing the next album, and also have a show next week, so we are active
Did we win something?
Just kidding, btw very interesting topic and good analysis about the Christian prog metal scene

Well, you are doing good work either way.
Also quite unusual, to have a female singer in a prog metal band.

Yes, pretty unusual, and in the first 2 releases we had 3 female singers, more unusual

Angelic Warlord just reviewed this one. Never heard of them, but am listening now. Not too shabby.

New S91 album out on 22 march!
S91 wrote:S91 is proud to reveal New Album Release Date + Artwork + Tracklist!
"Along The Sacred Path" will be release Worldwide on March 22 via Rockshots Records!
"Along The Sacred Path" is a concept album that traces the history of Christianity, continuing the narrative from "Behold The Mankind". The story is told through the life of some key figures that are not always considered positive by everyone. The main goal is to show how the Gospel message has spread in its original form, becoming the fabric of modern Western society. Scrolling through the track listing, you will see that all the characters are of European origin. This album is also a tribute to the great nation of Europe. As proud citizens, we feel it is a nation that today, more than ever, needs to recognize and rediscover its founding values if it wants to survive in these dark times and continue to be a beacon of civilization for the whole world.
Below tracklist and the wonderful cover art made by Gustavo Sazes!
Track Listing:
1 - Constantine the Great (5:40)
2 - Saint Patrick (5:24)
3 - Pope Gregory I (3:38)
4 - Olaf II Haraldsson (5:02)
5 - Godfrey of Bouillon (5:02)
6 - Joan of Arc (4:42)
7 - Martin Luther (4:39)
8 - John Williams (8:18)
9 - Dietrich Bonhoeffer (10:50)

Is S91 a thrash band?
" S91 plays progressive metal with modern shades, psichedelic atmospheres and complex time signature. “Behold The Mankind” is a masterpiece for fans of Delain, Darkwater e Shadow Gallery "

No, we play progressive-power metal, but sometimes you can find some thrash parts (especially when I sing)

Re: Where are the christian progressive metal bands?!
I just saw somebody post this on the Christian Metal Realm Facebook page. Jeremy - a really good prog metal band from South Korea. I had never heard of them before, so I looked them up on Metal Archives, and they have 11 full/ep/live releases back to 1996.
I'm surprised they are never discussed, and virtually unknown in Christian metal discussions. Has anybody else heard of them before? Do you know where to get any of their CDs?
I'll create a new thread dedicated to them so they get a bit more exposure.
