Guy will be singing one song on Gary Lenaires new solo album. (announced on Gary's facebook page)

I sent the following FB message to Guy three years ago when a discussion about him was started (a discussion that has long since died and been all but buried: https://thecmr.forumotion.com/t6549-guy-ritter?highlight=guy+ritter). We aren't FB friends or anything, so I didn't really expect a response:

In fact, as Gary Lenaire is no longer a christian, I doubt he can share any music that might be interesting for a christian like me.

I think it's cool that they are still friends.  A friend of mine who walked away from the faith recently said on FB: "I lost a lot of friends because the people I thought loved me only loved me as a Christian."  Sadly I"ve seen this sentiment more than once from former believers.

Yeah, I also think it is nice for them to keep their friendship. Though, musically, they can add nothing but a nostalgia of a long past gone.

Just because I said that? Really? There's a good expressiona and I learned in english only, it is:Don't judge a book by its cover.

I have few interest in any band with no christian lyrics. If you feel different, it is ok. Simple like that.

You'll also notice that these former believers distance themselves from Christians too. When a situation like this has developed around me or with friends there's always been a willingness to stay friends, but typically its the former believer that pulls back from the relationship.

It's cool to see that Guy has surfaced online. I've been wondering what he's been up to since guyritter.com went dormant a few years back.

In my christian circles it has been the ones that left the faith that ran away from us Christians.  They never ever gave us the chance to still be their friend and show them love.

I agree. A lot of them have snuck out the back door so to speak, and distanced themselves. A lot of them became antagonistic towards anyone remotely related to Christianity and make it difficult to have any kind of conversation with.
