Friend on way to hospital - possible stroke

My dear friend is on his way to the hospital in a few minutes. He's having trouble forming words and it is a possible stroke. Please pray for him and the family. Thank you.

Thank you. He is undergoing cat scan now and forming words a bit better.

They transferred him to a different hospital for observation overnight, looks like he might come home this morning. Glad that it seems to be nothing too serious.

My friend's son just got a call from the hospital, apparently he's had another episode and they said for him to hurry there. He's on his way now.

To clear up any confusion, these men are both my friends, they are father and son.

Father, Carl, is the one in the hospital. I've known him for 11 years now.
His Son, Karl, is my best friend, and is the one driving to the hospital now to check on his dad.

Well friends, it is a major stroke. Right side of the body not functioning and he is incoherent. I went to the hospital for a couple hours and he sort of follows my voice in the room, but he's not all there right now.

Thank you for your prayers, this is a very difficult time. At Thanksgiving table last year, I looked him in the eyes and said you are my family now, you are like my father now. That's how close these people are to me and my family.

Very sorry to hear of your friend.  Coming back from an event like that can be a long and difficult road.  I will pray for him, that he recovers, and that they are able to find a way to stop these strokes from occurring.

My Grandfather, my Mother's Dad, had a lot of strokes so I can almost imagine what you, your family and his family and friends are going through. I'm so sorry that it has come to this. I'll be praying for him, his son and family, and you and your family for Jesus to help you and them through this dark time.

Thanks all. With him in hospital again this morning. He is still very unresponsive, though he does make eye contact.

Praying, strokes are a terrible thing.

He actually shook hands with my son yesterday, so that was encouraging, but there is still a low chance of recovery. We will see.

I'm reminded that our home is in the heavens, seated in Christ at the right hand of the Father.

So excited to report that he has eaten some and has not been transferred to rehab instead of hospice. This fight ain't over yet!

He has been transferred out of the hospital to therapy in a nearby town. This is just an incredible turn of events as the doctor at the hospital gave no hope early in the week.

His grandson and my son placed a chessboard in front of him. This is one of his favorite games. They purposely put a knight in place of a pawn when setting it up. He reached and switched the pieces and put them in their proper places! This is remarkable improvement.

Thanks again everyone. He is still in therapy but not speaking yet or really focusing on who is talking to him. However, he does play a little bit of chess, but only if you hand him the piece. Right now, he is up to 3 moves.
