Whatever happened to Bombworks Records?
Does anybody know the story of what happened to Bombworks Records? I know the guy who went by "Dr. Industrial" was behind it, who I used to talk to via email and trade with regularly for a decade or so (sorry dude, can't remember your real name!). Bombworks was releasing a steady stream of new albums for a few years, then it just died off to nothing since 2012 or so. I'm interested in finding out what happened.

I know that they were bought out (or merged) with Retoractive Records. Matt runs them both I believe. Their site is here: http://www.bombworksrecords.com/
After that, I believe Matt got busy with things (He now pastors a church.)

I was wondering what had happened. I've been looking forward to a new Disaffection release for a while.

The guy you are thinking of is David Bixler. I am not sure exactly what capacity, if any, he still has with the label.strangerhoncho wrote:Does anybody know the story of what happened to Bombworks Records? Disaffection actually released a new demo over the weekend for free download.
Re: Whatever happened to Bombworks Records?
According to the Metal Archives, there have been eight releases since 2012. This is certainly fewer than there were in the past (there were nine releases in 2009 alone), but thankfully the label is not dead.

Re: Whatever happened to Bombworks Records?
the last I spoke with Matt, which was quite a while back a year or two ago... since CD sales have pretty well tanked it is super difficult to break even (who said anything about a profit..) .... so unless it is something where he can get his money back his release schedule is pretty slim...
they did just release a new Holy Blood cd a couple of months ago though...
