Best Nu Metal Album
If your favorite album isn't on the list just pick the best one from the list. For me it's really close between Toxicity and Satellites. I think I'm going to go with Toxicity and it's not all because of Aerials, for sure. My favorite between those two can change depending on the day. St. Anger would probably be 5 or 6 actually, only P.O.D, SOAD, and Demon Hunter are in front of it.

1. The Fundamental Elements of Southtown
2. Demon Hunter
3. Satellite
DH is my favorite band on here, but I really like those two P.O.D. albums, partly due to nostalgia, I’m sure.
My favorite nu metal album isn’t on this list: Pillar’s Fireproof.

Had to pick Toxicity too. Also not just because of Aerials, though it is my fav on the album. Others I love are the title track, Chop Suey, Deer Dance, and Science.

It was mainly a joke with some level of truth lol. The entire album is amazing and the best of SOAD's discography for sure.StevenCressler wrote:Had to pick Toxicity too. Speaking of nu metal, one of the best nu riffs I've heard wasn't on an actual song, but at 4:08 in this video

Re: Best Nu Metal Album
On this list probably Toxicity. Overall favorite would probably be TFK - The End is Where we Begin. Although System is objectively better musically, The End… was the album that got me into heavier music so it has a special place for me

That's a really good one too. Relistening to TFK recently I had forgotten that they could actually get pretty heavy at times. I'd say they're heavier than Skillet, even though I prefer Skillet (Collide is heavier than anything by TFK, but that's just one album). Red is heavier than either one though. If Red counts as nu metal than Innocence & Instinct would be my choice.seth wrote:On this list probably Toxicity. Overall favorite would probably be TFK - The End is Where we Begin
Re: Best Nu Metal Album
That's why it's hard to choose for me. If nu-metal only had the hit side I'd probably prefer it over DM. But it's too inconsistent. DM is way more consistent.seth wrote:Keep in mind that for me, nu-metal is very hit-or-missStevenCressler wrote:Can't say I fully agree, but it's close for me.seth wrote:Nu metal > OSDMBlack Rider wrote:A list of 🤮.

I’ve been slowly warming up to System of a Down over the years… but I chose POD - The Fundamental Elements of Southtown.

I don't think Red would count. From what I've heard it's more alt. metal.StevenCressler wrote:That's a really good one too. I like the heavy groove of POD. Especially the song Southtown.

Re: Best Nu Metal Album
I agree. I just know that some people call them nu (such as discogs for example). They have some nu-sounding riffs and heavy downtuning, but overall they don't have any sort of hip-hop influences or the other things I think are necessary for nu metal.Christian Thrash Rules wrote:I don't think Red would count. Yeah the few Red songs I’ve heard sounded like hard alt-rock to meChristian Thrash Rules wrote:I don't think Red would count. They are arguably the biggest Christian metal band ever. Yes, over Stryper.TZ75 wrote:I like the heavy groove of POD. Especially the song Southtown.
