Remember the Pat Boone "metal" album?

Here's a interesting video about it:

It was a joke and the music was lame.

Yeah, the album was one of those "listen to it once, laugh at it, never listen to it again" novelty things like Richard Cheese or Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies. Still, it'd good to see that Pat honestly respected and liked metal music. I wonder if he ever discovered any Christian Metal.

I used to have it, and yeah, it was pretty lame.  
At the time, I gathered he was trying to blow up his squeaky clean image and be relevant to a new generation.

If you watch the video, he actually discovered metal music and made it out of a genuine love for the music (though I'm sure some of it was done tongue-in-cheek).
