Missing Petra songs

Anyone know why (Couldn't Find Love) Without You and Magic Words weren't on the Neve Say Die/Washes Whiter Than Double album?

I think just so they would fit on one CD. It was a common practice.

I guess those were just Petra's two least favorites

This is also why I eschewed the KMG rereleases from the 1990's. A lot of discs dropped a track or two to meet the 80-minute limit.
I'm glad I waited! God bless Matt Hunt, Bill Roxx and the rest for bringing back the classics, some even better than the originals.

Sadly, some of those KMG releases were the only way for me to get my hands on certain albums back in my early college days. I’m glad some of them gave us every track, at least, occasionally even using two discs to do so. The first 4 Idle Cure albums were complete, as were the first two Sacred Warrior, the first 4 Bloodgood, and the first 2 Vengeance Rising.

while I'm here, I don't know why they do that, it makes no sense. AN album should have all the original material on it. I'd never buy an album if even just one of the original songs was missing.

The main reason I care is because I made a Spotify playlist of my Petra song ranking... but Spotify has this double album instead of the two separate ones, so those two aren't on Spotify.

Well, good news! Washes Whiter Than was released on cd about 3&1/2 years ago in it's entirety for the first time. It's only a matter of time before Spotify catches up.

I was never into those two albums. My favorite pre-John is MPTY for sure. Might be my second favorite Petra album, and the title track is the most encouraging song ever.

The answer I heard is what Pethead and bodachi said about time allotment on a CD.

I stuck to my cassettes for decades for this very reason.  I finally got the proper reissues a few years ago.

I downloaded both those songs off the petrarocksmyworld site 15 years ago. Not even sure if it's still up.

I remember when Dream Theater's Falling Into Infinity album came out it was one of the longest albums ever put on a single CD at just over 78minutes. The maximum is 79 minutes.

Washes is my least fav from them and Die is near the bottom, but I still want my ranking complete
