Best of these three hair bands?

I know everyone's picking Stryper, but I'm going Holy Soldier. Last Train and See No Evil are both top 50 songs for me.

34 years ago I would have said Whitecross but these days it's Stryper by far.

Stryper were the groundbreakers and had a bigger catalog as a hair band. I love HS but they never reached the level Stryper did.

Stryper>Whitecross>Holy Soldier

give me HS all day long...

and I don't hate Stryper

Against the Law is probably one of the best hair albums ever made.

Saw all three bands way back when (Stryper 1989, Whitecross 1990, Holy Bulger on their first album tour). Thankfully,  HS was a free ticket because I wouldn't have paid real money for it...

Side note: I saw Stryper playing the same venue as the other two bands in 2003

They were groundbreaking. And they got accepted in the secular scene because they were (and still are) that good. Whitecross is great, but not to Stryper’s level. And Holy Soldier only made two hair metal albums. They were great too,  but again, clearly well below Stryper’s level.

After hearing the new stuff and weighing that with their early catalog, I am going with Whitecross.  They should also have caught the war of secular audiences.  They were that good, too, even if they did sound like Ratt.

Holy Soldier.

I like the others but get tired of their sound after awhile.

As much crap as I gave Stryper as a teen ("Stryper sucks...here, listen to Deliverance")... I'm a huge fan now; especially the later stuff.

Stryper are a better live band I can tell that. BUt they have no album that can come close to the two melodic rock "hair metal" masterpieces Holy soldier wrote.

Yep. Rex really is an amazing intricate rhythm guitarist, very detailed and subtle what he does and so melodic and he's a god of lead guitar. Also, ballads aside, Scott was a great vocalist for their style.

I saw this tour, one of the best shows I've seen.

As much as I'd like to give my vote to Holy Soldier b/c their first 2 albums are (IMHO) better than any of the early Stryper albums, I have to give it to Stryper because of their longevity and continued music creation. TZ75, I'm with you, it doesn't get any better the AtL.

But all 3 bands are great.

It’s Earth Wind and Fire. They changed their minds about the idea of an Ohio Players cover. And I’m not talking about a song… 

I know it's an earth wind and fire cover it's the fact they chose to cover that song over all the other songs in the world...

Ohio Players were known for risqué album covers. 

It was an absurd suggestion that someone in Stryper (most likely Robert) would be striking a funny pose as a parody.

With that said… I’m sure many people thought it was absurd for a Christian band to have guys that looked like Hollywood transvestites. Robert especially played up the feminine aspect. He literally had Farrah Fawcett’s 1970’s hair style.
