I'm extremely bored with the layouts/graphics that both of these companies are using. I feel like everything that either of these companies release all look the same, and it has been this way for years. I understand that the same person is doing all of the graphics for both of these companies, but does every release need to look so uniform?

I agree.

There’s no fresh input.

I get that.

Honestly, I actually don't buy that much from Roxx or Retroactive. The fact the font is readable and each track gets significant space in the booklet is a huge positive for me. With so many bands and labels moving away from physical media these labels are doing a better job than most anyone else. I hate tiny fonts, no booklet, cardboard sleeves, etc. AfterWinter (a band with a very small following) getting a +20 page booklet and a double album for their debut is something nobody does these days.

Again, I get the complaint. I'm just thankful how much they put into their releases.

I’m not a fan of all the designs myself, although I like some of them, but I hear what FF is saying.

I hate the trading cards. I’d be happy with a sticker, though.

I welcome the bonus content, but the artwork is lackluster.

I think Scott does a great job with the music I bought like Leviticus, Deliverance, Rez, Barren Cross, Fear Not, Holy Soldier, Jerusalem, Stryper, etc.

I don't have a problem with them at all.  Especially the reissues which are usually chock full of bonus stuff absent from the original release.  You also have to keep in mind they also don't have a stable of a dozen layout out and graphics artists to pick from.

Let's talk about a real problem related to CDs and how digipacks are of the Devil!!!!

I'm curious to see some examples too; the Roxx releases I have are totally adequate in my opinion.

Good point. There have been some cool reissues.

Amen!

I love CDs, but I'll take even a cheap jewel case any day over a digipack.
