Favorite post-2000 Saint album?
I love all of these, but I think I’m gonna have to go with The Mark/Revelation. If the lyrics were better I might’ve said Heaven Fell.
Re: Favorite post-2000 Saint album?
I know I'll be in the extreme minority, but I voted for "Broad Is The Gate."

The mark followed closely by Hell Blade.
They are all solid albums, though.

Strewth, I was literally going to write EXACTLY the same as you. I love them all, but The Mark (I don't have Revelation) is SOOOO Saint. It's like their perfect album. But Heaven Fell had so many banging tunes in it, that it would have possibly made the top IF the lyrics made sense. David Nelson said he wrote the lyrics to be vague and people could make up their own minds how to interpet them. That's okay, but personally I'm not a fan of that style. I like it clear and in your face.
I was going to rank all the albums from top to bottom, but that would be virtually impossible. With Saint you always get a great album (okay, so maybe not The Perfect Life, but that's just a sign of the times (late nineties!)

Broad is the Gate for me. I LOVE Brian's vocals and even though the album is too short, it's packed with amazing tracks. Beyond that, it is harder to choose a favorite but I'd probably go with In The Battle.

Close between The Mark, Crime Scene Earth and Hellblade.
Went with CSE.
A relisten to all might offer clarity.

Which is why I interpret them as saying that Pethead is the walking personification of masculine perfection.Fundy wrote:Pethead wrote:I love all of these, but I think I’m gonna have to go with The Mark/Revelation. If the lyrics were better I might’ve said Heaven Fell.

I would totally have to agree. I would like the songs to be about SOMETHING and not have me guessing about what it is they are saying. The music is amazing, but the lyrics did leave a lot to be desired.\

It's a solid album! I am one of the two who voted for "In The Battle". I never worry about being in the minority. We like what we like and no one is going to change that unless Saint releases one that connects with us the same way. While I haven't sat down and rated all the Saint albums, that one is high on the list for me as well.

Interestingly, the only one with no votes is Desperate Night. It’s a solid album, although I’d say it’s probably the weakest of the Kramer stuff. Some great songs, though.

With so many great albums, it is quite easy to forget about a solid album.
Fun fact, my favorite song on this one is a redone song from the Perfect life album, called To Live Forever.
With some changes and a talented singer (Josh) this song changed completely. Great tune.

I went with HellBlade. I listened to it the most.
I also own The Revelation and Desperate Night.
