Let’s hear your favorite artist from each metal genre (feel free to skip genres you don’t like).
Traditional heavy metal: Bride (early albums)

Power: Theocracy
Black: Divine Symphony

Re: Best artist in each metal genre
I'll list a secular and a Christian (if applicable) band for each.
For now, it's:
Trad: (S) Judas Priest, (C) Saint
Thrash: (S) Testament**, (C) Tourniquet
Speed: Rage
US Power: Metal Church/Iced Earth (tie)
Euro Power: Stratovarius
Progressive: (S) Dream Theater/Galactic Cowboys (tie), (C) Extol
Neoclassical: (S) Symphony X, (C) Narnia
Death: (S) Death, (C) Mortification
Doom: Black Sabbath/Trouble (tie)
Folk: Amorphis
Groove: Pantera/Prong (tie)
Nu: System Of A Down/Sevendust (tie)
Alt: 311
Hard Rock: (S) Stone Temple Pilots, (C) Petra
Glam/Hair: (S) Extreme, (C) Stryper
Industrial/Electronic: Rammstein
** I almost co-listed Metallica and Megadeth, but I went with Testament since they've been more consistent in the thrash genre over the years.

Re: Best artist in each metal genre
Now that I have more variety (not much, but more)
Thrash: Deliverance (though Tourniquet is objectively better)
Symphonic: Ecthirion
Hair: Holy Soldier (But if I let the amount of music influence my choice it would be Stryper)
Power: Theocracy
Death: Mortification
Doom: Paramecium (at least I think they are doom)
Neoclassical: Tourniquet (Microscopic View)
Metalcore: I think some Red songs are metalcore, so I'll go with them
Nu: Early Disciple
Folk: Illuminandi
Black: Diving Symphony (No, I'm not copying seth, just several of these I only know one band that he recommended me due to them being symphonic)
Progressive: Deliverance (Learn)
Industrial: Deliverance (Assimilation)
Trad: Early Bloodgood
I'm sure I could put more on here, but that's all I can think of for now. Also might have gotten certain genres wrong lol.

Re: Best artist in each metal genre
Golden Resurrection is the best example I can think of. They even incorporate a Mozart piece (Rondo Alla Turca) into their song Spirit War

Re: Best artist in each metal genre
Most of these could change from day to day.
Traditional: Saint
(Bloodgood a close second, but more important for me)
Thrash/Speed: Deliverance (not consistent, but when they did it...they did it well)
Crossover: The Crucified
Groove: Precious Death
US Power: Haven
Death: Drop Dead (followed closely by Mortification 1st 3)
Trad Doom: Place Of Skulls
Death Doom: Paramaecium
Epic Doom: Veni Domine
Gothic Doom: Kohllapse
Black: not super into black metal, but I like Sorrow Storm.
Folk: Holy Blood
Industrial: Circle Of Dust
Power: Theocracy
Progressive: Extol (because I have to put them somewhere!)
Metalcore: Haste The Day
Deathcore: Impending Doom
Nu: (early) P.O.D (mainly Southtown)

Thrash: Vengeance Rising is my fav, "best" would be Tourniquet.
Power/Prog: Theocracy. I'm not looping the two genres together, it's just Theocracy is number one for both.
Groove: Ummmmmmm.... Don't know a christian groove band.
Nu: P.O.D., Demon Hunter is 2nd.
Black: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Deathrashcore: Saving Grace
Metalcore: For Today
Easycore: At The Wayside
Death: Morty
Traditional: Bride(First three albums)
Whatever J&H by Petra is: Petra(J&H)
Glam/Hair: Stryper
