Good to see Stryper on top, but idiotic to say that Michael is channeling KD. Styper came first and has more albums. If anything the satanist is copying Sweet...

From the article CDM just posted....
Who the heck is Kind Diamond? I realize this is an e-zine article but does nobody edit or proof articles anymore.
Metal Edge wrote:Opening with a 15-second scream from front man Michael Sweet, The Final Battle singes right away. That track, “Transgressor,” sets the album’s metallic tone, with Sweet’s vocals channeling Kind Diamond’s rock & roll damnation. On their 14th album, the Christian rock icons have forged a new holy relic.

I'd rather listen to Neil Diamond than King D.

Although Stryper (as Roxx) was formed a year before Mercyful Fate, MF were the first to release an album.

I forgot wakadooddle was the lead of MF. And I didn't go back to Roxx. Good catch.
I still think it was an uneccessary swipe by the author to say that the lead singer of the only Christian band on the list was channeling the most well known satantist in heavy music.

Re: Good to see Stryper on top
They would have to be Christian rock and Metal's biggest name, wouldn't they? They always seem to be on top! Micheal does not sound anything like King Diamond. Mind, have only listened to battle album once right through. Just sounds like Stryper being Stryper but perhaps with a bit more muscle than the early years. Also, when he's not doing ballads, I'd take Micheal's vocals over K D.

It's just a comparison, like how Luke Easter is compared to King Diamond.

^^Exactly. Like how I get compared all the time to Chris Hemsworth. I don’t get offended.

Am I right in thinking that Roxx formed in 1980 but the yellow and black and the Stryper we all know and love formed in 81 as a three piece called Roxx Regime? I'd love a proper Roxx Regime time line that was accurate with all the different members.MagnusPrime wrote:ChristianDeathMetal wrote: Styper came first and has more albums.
