For the first time ever, the Impellitteri catalog has been made available worldwide: A legendary guitarist around the world, Chris Impellitteri is well known for his technical skill, as well as being an extremely melodic and proficient songwriter. Despite being a full American metal outfit, the Impellitteri catalog has been hard to pin down for western fans, with many fans having to buy expensive import copies direct from Japan, where Chris enjoys a huge following... this has changed with Global Rock officially licensing the full catalog between the years 1987 and 2010. In celebration of this occasion, Global Rock are releasing “Wake The Beast” a 3 CD set that encompasses the Impellitteri story from 1987-2010. Every song here selected by Chris himself as to what he feels are the highlights from some 12 different releases. Whether its fan favourite Rob Rock on vocals or the legendary Graham Bonnet behind the mic, one thing can be sure, the intensity never lets up. This is the first ever Impellitteri career spanning compilation released worldwide, featuring not only the well known album tracks, but rare Japan released only bonus songs, B-sides and more! Prepare to “Wake The Beast”...

If it's Pedal to the Metal then I like it too, little different and a different singer but good songs.

Is there a reason to get this if you already have all the albums?

Yeah, I'm not. It does have a few songs that were released on the Japanese import albums so may be worth getting if you don't have any of those.Sevenoneself wrote:Is there a reason to get this if you already have all the albums?

^Very, though they're especially unoriginal to begin with so I doubt if one was a copy of the other.

This is what I'm most stoked for. I never got into Impellitteri because their CDs have been so difficult to find, but soon now I'll be able to acquire their catalog...

Re: IMPELLITTERI: Wake The Beast
I have all the Impellitteri albums except for System X and Pedal to the Metal and I have the Faster than the Speed of Light compilation. That Wake the Beast don't have any new/unreleased songs. I don't think I will get it unless the booklet contains a lot of information and pics similar to what the 2 Narnia compilations did and the Rez Music to Raise the Dead 2008 box set. If it's only going to have a small insert I will pass. Chris should of recorded a few songs for this and a video of a new song to promote it. Also, there is only 1 song on this compilation I don't have on the albums I got. The compilation runs from The 1987 EP to 2009 Wicked Maiden so it's a good representation of music. I also like the artwork.

Just a hands up, since the songs have been licensed, you can find all of Impellitteri albums on Spotify and probably other streaming medias.
It was good, so I could take a deeper listen to albums that I didn't care about such as pedal to the metal and system x.
