Good song. Hope he slows it down a little for a couple tracks like on Grin and Bear It.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
It is great and it has all elements we learned to love about impellitteri. Heavy songs, extremely fast guitar solos, high screams (does rob rock's voice get old at all?)
My only complaint is about some riffs that were apparently used on other impellitteri. The lighter riff of this song is extremely sinilar to eye of the hurricane riff. Check it out.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
I actually think, because of the limits of what Chris does, he's repeats himself fairly often. On Screaming Symphony the riffs for "I'll Be With You," "Rat Race," and "You Are The Fire" are all very similar and that's within a single album. It's like much of standard power metal. When much of it gets to speed it starts sounding similar.
Re: Impellitteri new song!
I never noticed these three songs. I will listen to it closely.
Also in screaming Symphony album, there are two tracks very much alike. Track 1 - father forgive them and track 3 - walk away
Another example is The king is Rising from 1994 answer to the master album in comparison to The Garden of Eden from 2009 Wicked Maiden album.
We could go on and on talking about this.
However, in my opinion Wicked maiden and Venom are very creative albums.

You pretty much know what you're getting from Impellitteri. If you like it, which I do, then you buy it, which I will.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
Rob's melodies and vocal lines are repetitious as much as Chris's riffs. They always sound "familiar."
The plain fact is, I love it all. It doesn't bother me in the least.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
They're like AC/DC... all their song's sound the same yet each one is uniquely amazing.
Re: Impellitteri new song!
Literally heard the opening line of vocals and proceeded to instantly pre-order
Rob's vocals just blow my mind every freaking time!

Re: Impellitteri new song!
As people said above, regardless the " riff repetition" problem, we all love impellitteri and it always deliver what we expect.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
With most power metal, I find that I *really* want to like it, but for whatever reason, I usually just don't. However, with my limited recent exposure to Impellitteri, I genuinely like this and can go back for repeated listens. I can't really put my finger what it is, but what I have heard thus far has just worked for me. Being so late to the game, I wish the back catalog wasn't so expensive because I think I would like most of it, especially with Rob Rock.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
Well, I'd say get "Eye Of The Hurricane" CD for their best album with Rob on vocals. If you get it with disc 2 then you're on to a winner, as that disc is epic too.
Re: Impellitteri new song!
I don't consider Impellitteri power metal. I think of them like Dokken and Stryper when the pace is picked up in those bands, especially Dokken. Classic metal/hard rock in the 80's sense.
Personally I'd say any one of the following are nearly flawless examples: Answer To The Master, Screaming Symphony, Eye of the Hurricane and Venom. The first three mentioned come all in a row. Those are the band's peak if you ask me and where the band found its sound. Venom is the best since.
As for the rest, most of his stuff is excellent.
Grin and Bear it has more groove and a more bluesy tinge but is super solid. It was the first full length with Rob and comes right before Answer to the Master. I'd say they were still finding their sound.
Some goofy keyboards and effects get Crunch. It is the follow up to Eye of the Hurricane and is otherwise as amazing as all the previous. The Japanese version has a different order and an extra instrumental that is worthwhile. The euro version, with its hideous album cover, came as a two in one with Screaming Symphony. This was where the band started trying to figure out if they should modernize to meet the times a bit but generally means it's is heavier and faster. Songwriting is still solid.
Pedal to the Metal is still good overall but has no Rob Rock, is slightly more modern and has some stinkers mixed in. The experiments with groove metal, ala Pantera, rap metal, and bad sound effects didn't work. I'd say 7 of the 11 songs are excellent though. I really like Curtis Skelton's vocals.
Wicked Maiden was an excellent return for Rob but some goofy keyboards, in my opinion, drop it down a peg where Venom excelled. Still solid. I know many absolutely love this. It just doesn't make the top 4 for me. It's right with Crunch for quality.
I don't care for the Graham Bonnet led Stand in Line or System X. Stand in Line is the popular pop rock classic that made the Impellitteri name. System X was Bonnet's return. On System, musically the band was back to its classic sound without the modern approach. Sometimes Bonnet's vocals nailed it, other times not so much. Rob brought the Christian lyrics so these two and Pedal to the Metal don't have the same message
Why say all this? Some of the albums can be pricy. You don't want to pay big money or buy something cheap and realize it's not really that great or doesn't represent the whole. That should help as an overview, even if it's a lot of my opinion mixed in.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
Just listened to the song louder in a more solid sound system and... Wow!!! That song is absolutely insane!!!
I am impressed Rob Rock can still sing that high even after singing for 32 years.

Re: Impellitteri new song!
Regarding Impellitteri entire catalog, you can't go wrong with the following albums in no specific order:
Venom
Wicked Maiden
Screaming Symphony
Answer to the Master
Eye of the hurricane
S/t (the black ep)
Grin and bear it is ok and Stand in Line is awesome but not as much as the albums I listed above.
Pedal to the Metal is awful.(that fase that every metal band thought they should make new metal)
I don't have crunch or system x.
Venom
Wicked Maiden
Screaming Symphony
Answer to the Master
Eye of the hurricane
S/t (the black ep)

Re: Impellitteri new song!
Obviously you can check these out on YouTube.
I'll defend most of Pedal to the Metal. It's not numetal. Hurricane is modern metal with a solid groove (and dumb sound effects) and P.U.N.K. is a terrible joke/rap metal track. Those are the odd ball tracks. It also has terrible album art. Yet, songs like Propaganda Mind, Dance with the Devil, Destruction, The Iceman Cometh, Writing on the Wall are classic Impellitteri. Aside from Curtis' more soulful vocals and the occasional hard shout as an accent it's generally par for the course. Not as strong of an album overall but not trash. Give it a listen.

Has anyone heard their cover of Sabbath's 'Symptom of the Universe'? I don't see it on YouTube yet.

The album isn't out yet.
Maybe you can hear a sample of this song on digital distributors.
