Amnis (neo-folk?)
In addition to Trinity and Christ Of The Black, Czech Christian musician Bard has another project. I'm not sure how to best categorize it but "neo-folk" is the closest I can think of. Really neat stuff!

Wouldn't this be considered traditional Czech folk?

It does sound quite traditional (not that I'm an expert at all). Good stuff.

Quite possibly! I'm not so good at genres outside of metal hahaha. The instrumentation is certainly quite traditional, though the arrangements seemed a little more modern to me. I'm definitely no expert though. Whatever it is, it's good!

I sent Bard an email and he kindly responded with some good info, including his website (all in Czech) which includes free downloads for Amnis' demos for anyone interested!

Re: Amnis (neo-folk?)
I just received Amnis' CDs in the mail today and they're really fantastic. Bard has an impressive talent of crafting music with a certain mystical/otherworldly feel.
And as a reminder for anyone foolishly sleeping on this stuff, it's all FREE to download off his website! Just click on "Amnis" on the lefthand side.

Re: Amnis (neo-folk?)
I emailed Bard directly. (His email is on his website under "kontact" but I'll PM you the email too just in case spambots are searching for email addresses here to blast!)
He was very friendly and happy to send 'em for a very reasonable price. Just a note, they're CDRs, so nothing fancy. Slim Jewel cases with folded inserts. But I think in a way that makes them all the more special.
