Re: Rank the Bride Albums
Okay, now I'm really eating crow.
I went back and listened to This Is It (which has been in my discogs "sell" list for quite some time now) and...it's good!!
I think even when it came out I was lamenting the fact that Dale didn't really belt out those wailing vocals anymore, but it's a pretty good album and it has been rescued from my "sell" list.

I took a chance on that one last year when I decided to investigate Bride’s recent stuff. I love it!scottmitchell74 wrote:Okay, now I'm really eating crow.

that about Glenn Mancaruso from Vengeance...
I thought it was that he just wasn't into thrash or death metal.
that's what I was referring to... I don't know about Die Happy,
it may have been before that era

Re: Rank the Bride Albums
Hi guys! I found this forum because I recently got into a Bride kick on Spotify in the last month which led me into searching for the albums not available on Spotify. One thing leads to another and I now I am the proud owner of all the Bride albums (except for Fist Full Of Bees which I finally broke down and bought for 40 bucks on ebay because that album is almost impossible to find! Still waiting on its arrival...along with Bluegrass Gospel and Bride Christmas!)
So I wanted to give my thoughts. I love Bride and all of their albums so I'm going to have to use a tiered system. I'll tier them as to what I think are my favorites, and how I would suggest a Bride newbie to listen to the albums.
I grew up with my Dad listening to Live To Die when I was 7 and I loved it lol. When I was a teen I bought and grew up with Scarecrow Messiah and The Jesus Experience. Both were in my top favorite albums to play continuously, although it seems not many like Jesus Experience...I thought it was great. Anyway, here is my tiered rating:
Tier 1:
A. Snakes In The Playground
I avoided this album for the longest time because of all of the hype. I've always avoided hyped up entertainment but I was missing out!
B.
Live To Die
Kinetic Faith
Scarecrow Messiah
Skin For Skin
This Is Your God
I think these are great albums that show their early years through their late years and show their range of style. This is Your God, being their latest shows they still have it after all these years!
Tier 2:
Show No Mercy
Silence Is Madness
Jesus Experience
This Is It
Tsar Bomba
Snake Eyes
All great playthroughs, includes their beginnings and their growth in style.
Tier 3:
Fist Full Of Bees (I'll get a better idea when my cd arrives, only listened to a YouTube playlist)
Incorruptible
Tier 4
Oddities
Drop
To me, these albums feel like songs that were left out of main releases. I still enjoy them ( in the order listed), but they aren't in my favorites.
Tier 5
Bluegrass Gospel
Bride Christmas
I have not yet heard these, awaiting arrival, only heard samples, but I would say these are probably for Bride fans who enjoy all 4 tiers.

Re: Rank the Bride Albums
I read his online "Bride the Book", and if memory serves me right, that is his claim, that they were never really into metal, and chose it for ministry.scottmitchell74 wrote:Do I remember somehow that Dale and Troy weren't/aren't really into metal; that they just used it as a ministry tool.
My daughters think I'm remembering this wrong, that they're too good to be non-fans of metal.

Re: Rank the Bride Albums
So u Bride fans are gonna hate me for this one lol. I posted my tiered ratings earlier...since then I just listened to "The Jesus Experience" I'm sorry, I won't change my ratings, but I will say, "The Jesus Experience" is in my top 3 Bride albums. I know it gets a lot of hate, but I love the lyrics and the music. To me, its a solid 8/10 minimum. Love u guys...I'm ready for the heated response. I will say this...listen to it again!

Listened to Snake Eyes again trying to talk myself into it...
Not there, yet. Not melodic/hooky enough to forgive the vocals.
Listening to the perfection that is Snakes in the Playground right now; gee whiz!
