Top 10 Thrash Albums (secular)
Two things I love: lists and thrash metal. I was thinking through my favorite thrash metal albums and came up with a top 10. There's no particular order and I'll do one for Christian thrash separately. Here you go:
And Justice for All
Master of Puppets
Ride the Lightning
Spreading the Disease
Among the Living
Persistence of Time
Rust in Peace
Seasons in the Abyss
Never Neverland
Practice What You Preach
Honorable mentions: Time Does Not Heal, The Years of Decay, Horrorscope, The New Order
What say ye?

Plenty of good ones already mentioned, but I think Death Angel needs a little more love, still releasing good stuff.

I like Act III, but aside from a song here and there I haven’t been able to get into their recent stuff. I remember everybody raving about The Dream Calls for Blood, but I found it kind of dull outside of a couple of songs.

Re: Top 10 Thrash Albums (secular)
I wonder that nobody mentioned Metallica's first:
"Kill em all". Since I think it must be mentioned, I do it now. I also think it is their best Thrash metal alubum, I even rate it before MoP and RtL.
And I always think that Motorhead was somehow a precursor of Thrash, though they might not really fit. But take the album "Overkill". It is from the 70ies, however there is quite a lot of Thrash in I think- though also 70ies flair...Perpaps the musicians (like me) here can find some similarities between Motorhead and for example Metallica. Have you ever played "Ace of Spades" and Whiplash on guitar? Not so much different. However, I would not say that Metallica cribbed it, it sounds too much different at the whole, however, I think Motorhead's influence on bands like Metallica and the Thrash Metal in general is at hand - in this was, they are a bit underrated since they somehow pushed the Metal.

Re: Top 10 Thrash Albums (secular)
This going to be hard because I know more Christian Thrash than Secular.
1. ...And Justice For All - Metallica
The best thrash album of all time. Frayed Ends Of Sanity is very underrated.
RAZOR THIN GAP
2. Master Of Puppets - Metallica
Metallica really bumped it up with this album. Leper Messiah is very underrated.
3. Rust In Peace - Megadeth
Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine. Nuff said. Love Holy Wars.
4. Countdown To Extinction - Megadeth
Less thrashy then RIP but just as amazing. Sweating Bullets is my fav.
5. 72 Seasons - Metallica
Metallica did an amazing job with this album. Screaming Suicide and Too Far Gone? are 10/10 songs. Inamorata is the best on the album for sure 11/10.
6. Practice What You Preach - Testament
I didn't really get into Testament but this album is awesome.
7. Death Magnetic - Metallica
Lots of Metallica on this list. This album is underrated. Judas Kiss and The Day That Never Comes are amazing songs.
8. United Abominations - Megadeth
A good album. Washington Is Next is an amazing song.
9. Reign In Blood - Slayer
The only reason this is on here is because I'm running out of albums lol.
10. Number Of The Beast - Iron Maiden
I know this isn't really thrash and that's why it's at the bottom. But a freaking incredible album.
