Well, I would say, that there are some bands that are awesome in ballads and like mostly all of their ballads. In this list, I would include Bloodgood, Guardian, Holy Soldier, REZ Band, among others.

There are too many to list, I will go with a few that I remember that weren't mentioned yet:

My favorite ballad is the one that comes on accidentally and then I have to hit the mute button.  This mostly happens on Soldiers Under Command.

"Lady" is actually pretty good though and I didn't know "A World Alone" was considered a ballad.

Makes me think of my mom. My mom is still with me, but I dread the day that she won't be.

There are many good ones but my favorite would be "The Rain Of Your Love" by The Waymaker.  It is just a gorgeous song.

As far as rock goes, Fire and Fury by Skillet is great, along with Lucy, Would it Matter, and Hard to Find.

Another kinda too heavy to be a ballad, but, true, great tune.  One of the few songs that are heavier in the verses than the chorus.  The verse is actually the heaviest part of the song.

Jokes aside, this might be my favorite non-symphonic death metal song I've heard

One of my favorites that’s often forgotten is Precious Death’s “One Day to Live”.

I also forgot Deliverance's "Now & Then" Jimmy's vocals benefit it a lot
