Re: Cool Rush cover...
I've heard bits and pieces of this band but never got full on into them, but I stumbled on this Rush cover and enjoyed it. One of my favorite Rush songs too.

This video popped up in my Facebook news feed. Sooooo good! One of my favorite Rush songs for sure. I've never listened to Allagaeon before, but now I think I want to give 'em a spin.

Re: Cool Rush cover...
Allegaeon are on of the better tech death bands but their view of God is a little off.
Greg – Sure I talked a bit about this in the song descriptions but, the 10 plagues of Egypt. Basically the story of God punishing a whole civilization, for one mans choice. One man controls Egypt, shouldn’t the punishments be exacted on the one causing the problem? I’m an atheist so I take the story for what it is, an anti-slavery tale. However from a modern point of view the story paints God as a horrible entity, basically killing innocents, so that a group of people will continue to praise him. It’s self serving, petulance at best, genocidal smurfhole behavior at worst. Let me clear we’re not an anti-religious band, you wanna worship Yahweh, Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, whatever more power to you. Be happy, be good to people, live a good life. That’s just something that I don’t need, and this song is more a commentary from our point of view on the story.

Re: Cool Rush cover...
I'm glad you liked that.
One of the university stations, in Cleveland where I work, (cant' remember if it's John Carol University or Case Western University, anyway...) do a "Rush-Day" once a year, so they play Rush covers for a 12 hour period. I heard that one, on the way to work, called the station and they told me where to find it. ...it reminded me of the early days of MTV, when the only people that had the songs they were playing were college radio.....
I never bought the "Exit Stage Right" LP, cause the Red Barchetta song was the only one I liked.....Borders had it, ......when they had Borders.......

That'd be cool. I didn't know there were 12 hours of Rush covers, though with as many as i've heard I should've expected it.
