Is the greatest band in rock history, any argument to the contrary is invalid!

Re: Rush
My favorite is Hemispheres. Actually had never heard it at all until a couple of years ago. I saw it in Books A Million but didn't get it. Then I was on YouTube and saw these guys who aren't Rush:
So I was interested enough to buy it. Great album. Permanent Waves was my favorite for years. I lost interest in them around GUP as I didn't care for all the keyboards. I liked a lot of songs from that era but not the albums. Which is why for that era I enjoy A Show Of Hands because it has all the best songs from that time period. never had a chance to see them live so I missed out but they never came anywhere around me.

I have been buying their digital albums frequently off Amazon. I'm probably going to grab Caress of Steel next. So far, I have:

The self-titled, Fly By Night, Caress of Steel, 2112, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Roll the Bones, Counterparts, Test for Echo, Vapor Trails, and Clockwork Angels

Re: Rush
If you look at the album cover for Clockwork Angels, the time is 9:12, aka 2112

Re: Rush
I got Caress of Steel the other night. From others' accounts, this was a very underrated album.

Yeah I love Caress Of Steel. I think I even like it better than 2112.

Re: Rush
I love Caress of Steel, but I prefer 2112 out of those two, and Hemispheres is my favourite Rush album. Anyway, Caress really IS an underrated album. The best thing about it is that it set the tone for the rest of their career, IMHO.

Re: Rush
I have five Rush albums: 2112, Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures. 2112 is my favourite, I think because I bought it first. And because of the opening track maybe. The guy's voice is something to get used to though
I think I have all Rush albums I "need", so I don't think my Rush collection will get bigger.

Re: Rush
Though they gets bashed, Signals and Hold Your Fire are very good albums, even with that 80's sound. And imo, Vapor Trails is a must have.

For those of you who plan on buying Vapor Trails, be sure to get the 2013 remixed version. The original 2002 version was brickwalled pretty badly, an early casualty of the "loudness wars".

"Hold Your Fire" is decent, "Signals" is mint!

Since I last posted, I have gotten Power Windows, 2112, and Test for Echo, which has a song that I haven't been able to stop playing.

It's been quite a while since I last listened to Rush, I think I should listen through some of my ROIOs
