Joshua Surrender original 1985/1986 version...
I bought his version of Joshua Surrender on CD which is the FM Revolver version. It's the same European company that made the original vinyl:
I usually see this version on vinyl. This is a West German import. The original mix is not as good as the 1992 Ocean/Word burgundy album color version which has parts rerecorded/played by Joshua Perahia like changed/enhanced solos and different rhythms and bass guitar parts. I figured I would get this version even though I have the burgundy 1992 version. On the original version Jeff Fenholt does all the lead vocals. On the 1992 burgundy version Robin Basauri sang lead vocals on Love Shock and the new track Show Me The Way.
Has anyone heard the original 1985 mix and the 1992 mix? What is your preference?

Joshua has been around for a long time. He's got some good material!

Actually, I'm not looking for information. The full story behind this album can be found at: http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/joshua.html . The records are common but the CD format is extremely rare. If you see it available and you are interested you have to grab it as soon as you can. I agree with you alldat - Joshua has some incredible music released throughout the years. It's unfortunate he takes a long time between albums, similar to other bands like Def Leppard, Metallica and Theocracy.
He is currently working on rerecording Intense Defense. I am thinking this will be released between now and next year. I have the original RCA CD so it will be interesting to hear the new version when it comes out. I'm thinking the recording style will be similar to Resurrection - more meatier and a thicker sound. Song wise, Intense Defense is a flawless album - every song is good and there are no fillers on it.

My favorite Joshua album! Surrender will always hold a special place for me based on the role it played in my life back in '92. Love this record. Never heard the original version...only the '92 version with Besauri's vocals on those 2 songs.
