Because Karam asked for it.....
....you can hear the new cigar box guitar instead of just seeing it! Who would like to hear it before it goes to live with its buyer? You would? Well, I won't keep you waiting anymore.
Remember, these are not sold in any store. You will not get any free ginzu knives or a smokeless ashtray if you order. Contact me here if you are interested in one or on Facebook as there are no operators standing by.

That totally depends on what I spend on parts. While I should probably charge more to cover my time, I just try to sell them for double my parts. With this guitar, I had around $60 counting the preamp & pickup, tuners, strings, banjo bridge, and cigar box. So, I priced it at $125. The musician in me wouldn't pay a lot more than that for one of these, so I also keep that in mind. The most expensive one I have done was an ammo can 4 string that I got $200 for. That money is being used to mix my blues album playing these babies.

From a couple of local cigar shops. They sell the boxes pretty cheaply. Two of the places I like to go sell the boxes and give the money to local charities involving disabled veterans. So, when I buy their boxes, I am being helping others with their rent or medications that the VA doesn't cover. I also have a box that is one of my own personal guitars that I bought from Jungle Jim's--the huge food market up in Ohio.

Excellent.
Is it difficult to build these? Or is it easy to learn?
I am asking because I would like to learn to build them, and once I have moved out of Venezuela, that could be something I could start doing.

How easy is it? Well, I have no previous woodworking experience and am about as mechanically inclined as a slice of bologna.
Building these is fun and addictive, but it is a niche market with literally thousands of people building these worldwide. So, if you do decide to make them, you are going to have to find something different to do with them. I want to start building them, get a band together, and sell even the ones I use in a show right there on the spot.

Re: Because Karam asked for it.....
Being that I have two left hands I couldn't work making this. Is more wishful thinking than anything.
You are a great artist and I am really happy you are doing this having fun. Good job brother

Re: Because Karam asked for it.....
Sure, you could. Watch a few videos online and you can learn how to do everything. I did.

On the upcoming CD, I did a parody of "Bad To The Bone". I made a Christmas song out of it and called it "Bound For A Throne". I play it on a three string guitar made from a Batman license plate.
Re: Because Karam asked for it.....
Here's the newest one I finished today. I call it a "canjo" as it is made from a metal can (or tin in this case). It features a candy tin with a picture of the historic home of former President Andrew Jackson. This is the first in a series (hopefully) of Tennessee themed guitars. I call this canjo "The Hermitage".
This is both an acoustic and electric canjo. It has a piezo pickup inside. The neck and fretboard are solid red oak. It is an open G-D-G tuning as well and can be played either chording and noting or playing slide.

Here is a very unpracticed first verse of Kermit the Frog's song "Rainbow Connection". If you close your eyes, you can almost hear our green little friend. LOL

Spend 10 minutes with me, and you will take me out of that book. LOL

You are a nut, I love the way you throw yourself out there with wild abandon, film yourself doing it, and share it on the internet.
