I would say Metal Archives would classify them as "life issues" or "inner struggles". There's some content about corruption.

All nine tracks from the album are on youtube. The vocals are clean so you can understand them.

It's Ben Moody's band (the other half of the original Evanescence), so he called it We Are the Fallen purposely telling us he is putting on a copycat of his old band. It has some great songs on it, this one is just an opener.
