I've listened recently to the remaster of Recon's Behind Enemy Lines and the Worldview disc. It got me thinking, what is your favorite project(s) that George Ochoa was involved with?

I only know about Worldview so far I might want to check out Deliverance, since I understand it's like a classic in the "christian metal" genre.

I went with Recon. I like the music and songs there, but the singer takes away from it some.
I like Worldview's singer much better. In a perfect world where I am the puppet master, George would recut that album and use Rey Parra to sing on it. Then, the world would bow at my feet.
While I do like Recon, I don't like the new remaster. It is just too bass heavy and causes ear fatigue if you turn it up like metal should be.

I didn't know he played on PRM. How did I miss that. I haven't voted yet because I need to listen to these again.

What A Joke for me. It's an absolute shredfest.

Weapons for me. You know, I didn't like the Worldview record all that much, I just didn't think it had near enough shred.

Voted for Released Upon the Earth, but really all the heavy stuff is great -- Deliverance, VR, and Mort. I've tried several times the past few decades to like Recon and it's just so bland and irritating to my ears. Haven't heard Worldview but I can't usually listen to bands with terrible names.

Re: Favorite project from George Ochoa
Well, Weapons is probably the best album I have ever heard (from any band in any genre at anytime). It holds a special place in my heart, so I couldn't vote for another album.
But I love all of their projects, but for Mortification album, which is good, but not great, and VR album, which I have never listened to. Somehow, I can't listen to VR for too long. The vocals annoys me a bit.

Of the ones listed, I've listened to Behind Enemy Lines the most. The two Deliverance releases are also excellent and, to me, that's the most listenable Mort release. I really can't choose.

Re: Favorite project from George Ochoa
After looking at this list I realize Ochoa is probably my favorite guitarist ever
Worldview is the best modern release out of any classic bands
Recon's album is one of my top 3 glam/power albums ever
Big D's Weapons and What A Joke are in my top 5 thrash albums
and Vengeance's Released and Morti's PRM are my personal fave releases by two of my favorite bands

I would add a bit of a caveat on the Deliverance albums. While George certainly played his part, Jimmy is no slouch on playing the guitar either.
I still find this video of Jimmy and George hilarious.

Re: Favorite project from George Ochoa
I have a life phylosofy that if there's a poll of better in anything and Weapons... is there as a option, I will vote Weapons.
But either Heroes Ochoa is extremely talented or he is extremely lucky, because I enjoy basically everything he has done.
In fact, I think it's a mix between talent and luck.

I love several of these, but it’s gotta be Weapons. Just a perfect thrash album.

I didn‘t know he was in all of these. I went with Weapons but I really like Recon, WaJ and Released as well. Classic stuff. Worldview isn‘t half bad either.

Yeah, Weapons. We're all so "basic," aren't we?
