Crystavox
So, recently compared to most people, I really got into The Bottom Line by Crystavox.
I was wondering if their had ever been any re-issues on CD or vinyl of either of their albums.
I only have The Bottom Line on Cassette and would love to get a hold of it or their first release on CD.
Theres probably some really obvious re-issue out there isn't their?
(Oh and feel free to give your opinions on the band, and which release you like more?)

I love love love this band...I think there has been a few reissues as well as the album 20 year mix which is a greatest hits...The cd's of the first 2 albums are around (amazon, ebay) but are usually expensive.. Since I already had the cassettes for the packaging I downloaded all 3 albums from itunes and burned my own cd's... Definitely a band I would love to see a new album from..would buy it on release day..

Re: Crystavox
I loved those original albums by Crystavox! There was some chatter when "The 20 Year Mix" came out that they were working on new material. That hasn't happened and the chatter stopped. Sadly, I think that is all we'll see from this great band.

Great band, underrated IMO.....

Re: Crystavox
Great band! I like their first record a little bit more than The Bottom Line, though both are stellar. The problem with the first album is production. It really could use a re-record. Even the polishing up they did on those tracks for the 20-Year Mix was an improvement; but I wish they'd re-record that album like Whitecross did with 1987. It would sound so much better with modern production quality. The songs are just awesome! The Bottom Line was a solid record too. The bottom end on that album is like a freight train - especially Snakes In The Grass.
Really, really wish they'd get back together and make some new music.

Great band, undoubtedly! I have their debut which is awesome, but I am not sure if I am ever going to purchase The Bottom Line, as the 20 years remix had their main songs in such a good quality.
Hardcore christian, if you have never purchased the 20 yeats remix, do it as soon as possible. It is great stuff not to mention the Dvd with interview, video clip and live videos. It is certainly one pf the best work that Roxx Records has ever done.

Re: Crystavox
LLLLLOVE THIS BAND!!! Probably my second favorite Christian Glam Metal band (next to Stryken)!
I had their first album on cassette back in the day. Played it into THE GROUND!!! Seriously, I wore out my cassette. I need to get a copy of that on CD - and then get "The Bottom Line" too. Is their new 20 Years like a Greatest Hits album?

I believe it is a GH remixed, and it comes with a DVD. But it is out of print and the ones that Roxx has left is all that is left.RavenWolf wrote:LLLLLOVE THIS BAND!!! Probably my second favorite Christian Glam Metal band (next to Stryken)!

Re: Crystavox
Crystavox is a great band! One of the most underrated melodic metal bands out there imo and would LOVE to hear something new from them.
I invited Adam Lee Kemp (the vocalist) to this thread. Hopefully he joins it.

Re: Crystavox
I wish more bands from back in the day put out anthologies like Crystavox and Rez Band did. Bonus, that they had versions with a DVD of concert footage and interviews.

For those who have the 20 Year Mix...how is the remastering?
In other words, if I have the first two albums, is it worth the double-dip, or is the sound pretty much the same?

To me it sounds pretty good. They did record some new parts here and there, so there are still some differences even if you don't like the mix. Usually I am not a fan of bands adding new parts to older songs, but they seem to work well here.
The bonus DVD is probably the best reason for a fan to double-dip. Interesting footage and older videos. I'm just upset I missed the 3 disc version. Would love to hear the songs on the third disc.
