Aww c'mon, you guys weren't taught about George Washington in school? (Though upon looking it up again, it seems it wasn't true... which is ironic.)

Re: Not Gonna Lie
I'll be the first to second that Christian music should have bold and unmistakable Christian lyrics.
Even though the following quote is in context to Christian black metal, and obviously the jabbing perspective of someone unsaved from a misanthropic black/death metal band, its still clear that even someone like this agrees that Christian music shouldn't have lyrics that beat around the bush.
“And I’ll set the record straight for pro-Jesus music, if it’s gonna be pro-Jesus fine, make me fear His wrath to the point where I sh*t my pants or make me want to hang myself for Him. Don’t be passive about it. This is the cold intent black metal is founded on, you either got it or you don’t got it."

Re: Not Gonna Lie
Lets just say that Fallstar is a secular band and the lyrics will seem more consistent with their worldview.

I agree, but I still listen to quite a few bands who arent obviously Christian but you can tell/know that the members areThomasEversole wrote:I'll be the first to second that Christian music should have bold and unmistakable Christian lyrics.

That's true about Black Metal. It's a very extreme style and the lyrics need to back that up. I agree.

"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Ma 10:33
not saying every song has to explicitly be about Salvation, but if your saved from eternity in torment. You think you could make it a little more than "vague" in your lyrics.

There is sooo much in the Word of God that a Christian could write about that would encourage Christians and magnify the Glory of God. So much so, that they would never run out of inspiration for God-exalting songs.

Re: Not Gonna Lie
I remember their first release. Watching the lyric video and having a problem with things i saw and read. Even showed it to a friend who agreed with all the complaints i had. So i don't think it's anything new.

Re: Not Gonna Lie
Sometimes I have to wonder why worldpeace is what Christians want to stand for and in a way it's right. Jesus wants us to be peaceful and to receive his peace but on the other hand the Bible tells us that there will be persecution and tribulation and a huge war in the end. So there goes world peace. So that is one point and the other seems to be some kind of a trend in some bands that lets 'em water down their message for many reasons. It is sad to see that. Sad to se brothers and sisters stumble. But it happens once in a while, it is only human and it requires strength to straighten up and go on. Well, I didn't add much new here, right? The real answer would be prayer for such bands to be refreshed in the spirit.
