Metal Church

When I first heard Mike Howe had returned to Metal Church, I was moderately interested. Even though I prefer the late David Wayne, Mike's a good vocalist. But after seeing this video, hearing how good the band sounds, the vocals, and the song samples, I  am excited about their new album.

Agree. It sounds pretty good. RatPak Records seem to be releasing some cool stuff and promoting them well.

I LOVE Metal Church! At least their first 3 albums anyway.

Today is release day. Anyone else picking this one up?

Probably not, but as soon as it becomes available on spotify I will listen to it. I don't usually buy albums often anymore. The 10 bucks a month for spotify is all I can really afford to spend on music these days.

I had the awesome experience of seeing them live last night. They put on a free show at Jewel Nightclub in Manchester NH. I've been a long time fan and it was great to finally see them live. They are a very underrated band.

Just litened to it today. I thought it was pretty awesome. Definitely one of the better of the last few since Light in the Dark. I didnt really care for Generation Nothing

Okay, I feel bad for not knowing who they are.
Anyone got some suggestions to educate me on Metal Church?
I'd like to know more than their name when I see them in October.

TOB speaks the truth. I would also add that their cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star is one of my all-time favorite covers.

Metal Church will be playing at the ProgPower festival in Atlanta next September.  I would post a link, but I'm a new member here and it isn't allowed.  After a week I'll come back here and post the links for posterity.    BTW, Teramaze will be playing there too.

First off, welcome aboard. Second, thanks for the heads up. I am a HUGE Teramaze fan. An opportunity to see them here in the states would be awesome.

The Teramaze show is part of Day 3 & 4 of the festival which is sold out.  However, you can probably get tickets to it on the official online ProgPower forum.  Someone is always selling tickets because they cannot go.  Unfortunately Snowy Shaw will be playing on the same day as Teramaze. Metal Church will headline on day 1 or 2 of the festival.  Tickets for it go on sale 10am Eastern Nov 12 I believe.  Again I would post links but the forum rules require I wait a few days.  I'll do it when I can.

I love XI.  Awesome album.  Needle and Suture is my favorite song.

Hard to pick a favorite but N & S is a standout.
