Def Leppard finally coming back?

We haven't heard really good DL music in a very long time. I am a big fan of their 80s stuff from the early heavy metal to the monstrous sounds of Hysteria and Adrenalize. Could it be that they are finally figuring out that that's what fans want? Check out this first single from their new record. It could have come right out of the Hysteria recording sessions. I hope the whole record is like this.

That does sound promising.  Hopefully it isn't the only song on the album in that vein.

I like them until they became a Brian adams clone band. Hysteria has some of the most amazing melodic Guitar lines ever recorded.

The 2 songs I've heard song great in the "hysteria" style.

I just hope the hole record is more guitar heavy like these 2 songs.

Pre-Ordered this looking forward to hearing it.

Yep, that one reminds me of Photograph. So far the 2 new tunes sound good but I don't find myself getting excited about it but I am more of a casual Leppard fan.

Just got the new one curiously self titled. Gonna spin it for the first time!!!

I might even have to pick this up.  I've been listening to a handful of old bands that I missed from my teen years.

I listened and imo there are about three songs they worked very hard at sounding like the days of Hysteria.

The first song is immediately recognizable as Leppard. After that, about half the songs have that familiar vibe and signature sound.

Overall, they've toned things down as to not be 80's over-the-top. Seems other 80's hard rock/metal bands lately have matured in this regard. More refined and less raw. More like melodic metal.

My favorite song, 'All Time High'.

wow I thought the new album was a big steaming pile of monkey poo, I would start to listen to a song thinking this sounds great only to have it turn to crap 5 seconds later, 2 great guitarists and this is the best they can play, but I guess the soccer mums will eat it up and I just hope they don't play too many new songs when I see them in 2 weeks

Both these new songs sound pretty good. Definitely better than anything they've put out in a while. I was never a big fan of Hysteria though. I love Pyromania, but High and Dry is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Pyromania and High and Dry are my favorites, too. The new tunes sound pretty good, but for my tastes, I need Steve Clark. They just aren't the same without him.

Not impressed with anything after the first 2 songs so far.

I can't believe this is the same band that put out On through the night, High N Dry, & Pyromania. This is really BAD. I'm pretty sure they will be opening for the New Kids On The Block. Oh oh, oh oh oh!.... The wrong stuff!

Is it really that bad? I love Def Leppard. To me all their albums are good. I'm probably in the minority here on that though.

But Def Leppard is actually one of my fave bands of all time. Up there with Iron Maiden.

For anyone who likes to look in the $5 bin at Walmart, I saw "Mirror Ball" in it. Look hard enough in your area and you might find it, it is a steal for 5 bucks. A double live album with a bonus DVD (and I don't know what is on the DVD I have never watched it). I bought "Mirror Ball" when it was new and it was $11.88. Was a good deal then too but even better deal now that it is in the $5 bin.
