Industrial Music Empty Industrial Music

Post by Guest Mon Oct 12, 2015 1:59 pm

Industrial Music was created in the late 70s, just shortly after the creation of Punk. It has now become a meta-genre with many subgenres in it (including Industrial Metal, EBM, Electro-Industrial, etc).

Are there any fans of Industrial Music here? Let's talk about this genre. It's one of my faves!

Who are some of your favorite artists? What do you think of this genre? In many ways, it's a lot like Metal, in that it goes against popular culture in it's core values.

Industrial metal here too.  Circle of Dust, especially the re-record of the s/t album and Brainchild are the pinnacle of that to me.  I don't know many other good Christian bands though.  Mortal and Aleixa were good too.

I forgot about Generation.  Good stuff but I don't listen much (cassette copy and only one place in the house to listen to that format).

Industrial is one of those genres that I enjoy but I don't really know enough about to have bands/artists I enjoy.

I forgot about that band! That is some GREAT STUFF!!! I used to have their stuff back in the day, but I loaned it out and never got it back. Oh well. I need to replace all my Deitiphobia CDs!

Chatterbox's Despite is a pretty sweet industrial release.

I also have both of Under Midnight's releases as well as Circle of Dust/Argyle Park, kLaNk, early Mortal, etc. I like industrial quite a bit.

Industrial is a genre Ive never really gotten into, the only bands I really have ever listened to are Mortal and a band I just discovered called Virginia Creeper. Virginia Creeper is pretty awesome I had no idea what to expect, glad I gave it a shot, once again thank you Spotify.

Who are your favorite Industrial bands?

Mortal, Argyle Park, Chatterbox, Under Midnight, some Circle of Dust. Basically, a bunch of 90s artists. Kind of hard for me to leave that era.

Best Christian industrial album ever??? It's gonna be tough, but as of this very moment, I'll pick "Lusis" by Mortal.

"Lusis" is indeed a very good album! Mortal's best by far!!!

My favorite Christian Industrial album would be Circle of Dust - S/T ... something about that classic album that I love!!! They never quite matched it again - nor did Celldweller.

Mortal's Nu-En-Jin is extremely good but not too much left of the early industrial sphere they used to have.

I've never heard that album from them. Wasn't that their last before they broke up?

Too bad they broke up. They could be making great music today!

OH wow I had no idea he was in Switchfoot! I remember hearing another band they had started: Fold Zandura (I even have one of their albums - and it's pretty good). Is Switchfoot any good? I've only heard of them.

Yeah if you like lighter alt-rock. I like Switchfoot every once and a while.
