melodic death metal
I repost this probably every 6 months or so, but I was just wondering if there have been any new and good MDM releases recently?

Re: melodic death metal
For the most part I'm not a big fan of the genre, but there are a few I enjoy. Do you know Darkening?

They're pretty solid. I wouldn't quite say they're straight up melodic death metal, but they're pretty atmospheric while simultaneously pretty brutal. I've been cranking them a lot lately.
Also, definitely keep an eye on Above The Storm. They're friends of mine from my hometown and are real solid. They recently released their latest EP digitally but a CD version is coming soon from SkyBurnsBlack.

You can download their single Slow Temple for free:

Thanks man. Can definitely hear the influence of deus invictus on the technical guitar work.

Re: melodic death metal
Glad you like!
They're black metal, not death, but Triuwint is pretty melodic and aggressive. I've been really digging their album. You may enjoy them too:

Re: melodic death metal
Check out Hilastherion! Great Melodic Death Metal with Christcentered lyrics. Have released two excellent albums.
Re: melodic death metal
I guess you are familiar with the classics of Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork and stuff....
Anyway, as some people said before new album is out. Personally i find to be their weakest release, but is still good.
Also the last nightrage album while one of their worst, is also pretty damn good. It may sound a bit disturbing the guitar tone at the beggining, but when you get used to it is enjoyable.
Last Disarmonia Mundi album is killer! More commercial and modern style, but still great.
You also have the last The Duskfall album, but is somewhat generic. You can get it if you're a huge melodeath fan like me, but do not have great expectations.
There is also last At the gates album which is nice, but i have to listen to it more, and last Mors principium est, but i haven't listen to it yet, but i will soon.
That's the latest stuff i get, but i may forget some. Enjoy!
