Re: GX Project now available for pre-order
I am a little wary of this one after the attitude Rex got with me when I asked about getting lyrics.
Re: GX Project now available for pre-order
I met Rex once at a concert here in Newfoundland. He is a pretty nice guy. I went through Bite Stick and the first part of Sinner and like many of you it's hard to make out the lyrics. I will be ordering this in a few days. The collaboration with Rex and fellow Newfoundlander Glenn Thomas was meant to be just one song, Love IV and now they are on to their third album.

Rex is a great guy. Met him in person at Skull Fest back in 2013 and talk to him via messenger on a regular basis now.

The song She's Got Balls - isn't that the Bon Scott era AC/DC cover Rex mentioned that would be on the album?

No. I think he mentioned it on Facebook that it wasn't.

I deal with him a lot behind the scenes, and he's a nice guy. I would assume it might be from years of criticism for lyrics not having enough JPM. I think I have read that GX is not a Christian band per se, but that Rex and Glenn are.

She's Got Balls is not an Ac/Dc cover, at least according to what Rex has told me. He said they wrote it.
I don't remember him ever saying that there is an Ac/Dc cover on the album (though there may be). I know in another forum people saw the title "She's Got Balls" and automatically assumed it was an Ac/Dc cover, then proceeded to question why a Christian band would do that song... all without anyone bothering to confirm that it was indeed a cover. I did message one of the people and let them know they should check first before everyone jumps to conclusions.

My thoughts exactly. I know he has gotten tired of the hypocrisy and judgmental attitudes coming from a lot of Christians over the years

Unfortunately, not wanting to give fans a simple lyric sheet and the attitude he copped when asked is going to garner even more of that attitude. Just put it out there what you are doing with GX and go for it. We know it ain't X-Sinner and are not expecting the same thing.
Re: GX Project now available for pre-order
Agree alldat, I don't care if the whole album is about shopping for shoes at the mall. If that is what it's about I want lyrics regardless of the content, if it is good music I want lyrics! One of my listening pleasures is to open a new album and sit down and read the lyrics as it plays. I also want to hear more samples before ordering this one because I like the first album better than the second one. If this one is as good as the first then I will order. I just want some more samples first.

Re: GX Project now available for pre-order
Speaking from my own observations, I don't think he is too worried about keeping that part of the fan base that require lyric sheets to buy his music.
I don't know the extent of grief he has taken from Christians over the years about his lyrical content, but obviously it was enough to make him even stop bothering with printing them.
There are sites that will print the lyrics for the album shortly after release, and he is well aware of that. So the lyrics will be available.

Printing them has to do more with the money. You have to pay more for a booklet.

"Printing" was a loose term by me..btw
He won't just make a pdf with them for those that want it or post the lyrics on his web site, both of which are free and viable alternatives if he wanted to put them out there. Which leads me to believe that he doesn't have any desire to put them out there, period. Not about the cost at that point.
That was why I was saying that.

Even if the lyrics were fine (and that non-cover song title sounds quite crass), his "singing" sucks these days. It's a total waste because he can really sing if he'd just stop trying to be Bon Scott.

Seeing the fuss he's made about people illegally downloading, you'd think that as an artist he would be interested in keeping ANY paying fans interested. Providing lyric sheets, even in a PDF, is a tiny bone to throw to your fans Christian or otherwise.
