New Europe album- War of Kings.....

Anyone else stoked for this album?  Sounds like they're bringing a harder sound than the last album which was very bluesy.  Can't wait to get my copy in March.  I'm also going to try and see them in New York, since they don't hit the US very often. 


  

Loved, loved, LOVED the last album. This sounds pretty good.

I didn't realize they are still around. I thought they were one hit wonders lost in rock history.

...jk, this isn't that bad actually. Not really my thing, but you'd expect a lot worse from a band with "Carrie" being their only other minor success.

They were far from being one-hit wonders!!!  The Final Countdown, Rock the Night, Carrie, Cherokee, and Superstitious (to name a few) all received a decent amount of airplay on radio and MTV back in the day.  Europe continues to crank out excellent rock songs in this second phase of their career!  When you get a chance, look up some of their more recent albums: Start From the Dark, Secret Society, Last Look at Eden, and Bag of Bones.

No.  I never posted this in the Christian section.  I posted it here.  Europe has some songs with spiritual themes (Devil Sings the Blues, Wish I Could Believe, Reason), but I definitely would not label them a Christian band.

Just wondering. The lyrics for this song sound possibly maybe Christian and the dude's gotta giant cross round his neck.

I know from what I've read that the guys seem pretty private about their religious beliefs, but I do remember noticing some Christian-type themes in a lot of Europe's music, as well as Joey Tempest's and John Norum's solo albums.

I love this new album because it reminds me of old Deep Purple

I have no problem with it as is, but i wish they would go back to their 80s sound. No, i dont mean The Final Countdown, i mean the sound of their first two albums

I pretty muck like all of their albums, but I do agree that their first 2 albums are criminally underrated, especially Wings of Tomorrow.

I couldn't stand Europe back in the day, but the album "Bag of Bones" made me change my mind. Especially this track off of Bag of Bones.

This is a good album. My favorite song so far is, The Days of Rock N Roll.  What other albums post Out of This World should I check out?

Until this band goes back into Metal again, count me out.

Europe were Metal for their first 2 CDs.

Anything that came after Wings of Tomorrow CD went straight downhill from there on.

The band has never come back to that True Metal sound since.
