Scarlet Rayne
have a cd called theater humanitarian. Anyone else like it. I noticed on the liner notes that a second album was recorded but never released. Which is a pity.

I just realized (after seeing the cover) I have this album. Can't remember the last time I listened to it. It's got a definite Queensryche sound to it.

"Theater Humanitarian" by Scarlet Rayne was re-issued by Arkeny Steel Records in 2008. Four songs from an unreleased project called SolScapre were included as bonus tracks.

I was certain this was already reissued. This is the version I have.

Re: Scarlet Rayne
You can still find reasonably priced copies of the re-issue on eBay and Amazon. So I do not think there is need for another re-release.
Re: Scarlet Rayne
Yeah from what I understand the last album was lost and the only songs salvageable were the ones that ended up on Kostas reissue which are good!
Re: Scarlet Rayne
By the way CMD will have both the CD remaster and LP in stock in a couple weeks LOL as well as a restock of the release from Battalion they did.
Re: Scarlet Rayne
Listening to this again today and am blown away.
Not only are the vocals very good, but so are the solos!
The newer songs they recorded for their planned 2nd album were also very strong. I'm especially enjoying "Lion's Den".

Reminds me alot of Haven on the vocals, which of course is alot like Queensryche

I personally like the vocals a lot more than Haven, but I like Haven as well. These are cleaner and higher.
Speaking of Haven, do you like their 3rd album? I'm scared to buy that one.

Thanks for the revitalizing of this thread, brothas. I found the disc for @$20 at Discogs. Ordering it from Greece!

You guys might be interested in seeing this live clip of them from 2011 - a reunion show in Wisconsin.
They still sound good after all these years.

I have III, it's a mixed bag. It's like a lot of heavy metal singer's solo albums: toned-down with lots of ballads and slow songs.Temple of Blood wrote:mothy wrote:Reminds me alot of Haven on the vocals, which of course is alot like Queensryche

The biggest problem is that Kevin Ayers plays most of the instruments thus the riffs are very basic and just there as a base to sing over. He did have real guitar players contribute most of the solos though. The quality of the sound is a cleaned up demo and the vocals are not really up to Haven's standards, but still pretty decent. The first song "Haven" is very good and worthy of a listen, but the rest of the album doesn't live up to it. There is some quality power praise on here like "Love From Above" and "Jesus Light the Way."
13 songs? Not really. The last track is a throw away track and there's two short ballads as well. "Prisoner" is a nice take on "Barracuda" or "Achilles Last Stand." Expectations are everything and this is not a heavy metal-fest, just a little bit of everything, but is worth it for the Haven completist...
