Scarlet Red question

I have often seen it stated that various companies have tried to locate Scarlet Red to get them to sign off on a remaster/reissue of their Don't Dance With Danger album...but that no one can find them.

But my question is, since the album is on iTunes and Amazon music, didn't someone with rights to it have to sign off on it being available there?

So whoever signed off on that, would have the same power to sign off on a reissue, right?

It may not necessarily be someone from the band, as they may not be the rights holders anymore. The digital format on Amazon is provided by Star Song Music (STR)...so wouldn't it be them that control the rights?

From what I heard the band members do not want it reissued. Star Song probabl has rights to the original release being available on iTunes and other outlets but that might be it.

A lot of hair metal / glam bands, especially Christian ones, are ashamed of their music from back then

Personally, I wasn't too thrilled about some of the over the top makeup, but I find the constant use of death imagery and demons (like a lot of today's metal) far more embarrassing

Ah heck, it was, is, and always will be just music.  If a band is embarrassed about it, I understand.  But they shouldn't be.  It was what it was, and some of it was actually pretty dang good.

You would think that, as artists, they would be thrilled that someone still gave a crap after all these years and that people wanted their music.

I find myself liking some of these bands better nowadays.  Probably for the nostalgia of it.

Huh huh...uhhhhhhhh...those chicks are HOT, uh...huh huh.....

I go through stretches where all I listen to is old school 80s stuff, especially Christian metal and hard rock. Been on one of those kicks lately, in fact. Pulled out some obscure stuff. Will have to bust out Scarlet Red, now...
