Awful Christmas movies

So lately, we've been on a kick as a family to watch awful Christmas movies!

Here are three that we watched recently, just for the sole purpose of saying we watched.

It's "Santa With Muscles" starring Hulk Hogan in arguably his worst role and arguably one of the worst Christmas movies ever made. Also starring the famous Clint Howard and that kid from the Beethoven dog movies.



We also watched "Christmas With Tucker"



and "The Christmas Card"

Santa Claus Conquers The Martians

More vintage Christmas cheese.

No plans on EVER seeing this one, it might kill the original for me. Interestingly, there was already a sequel to this that was pretty decent called "My Summer Story" made in 1992 that is quite good. It was directed by Bob Clark and narrated by Jean Sheppard so it had the feel of the original. 

This one is just stupid, looking from the preview. They didn't even use the same house, which is still there and looks the same (and was used in My Summer Story).

My wife has a binder with well over 200 Christmas movies in it. I'm sure there's a few bad ones in there.  I seem to recall one involving The Munsters being in there......

Here's another Mexican production I saw a couple of years ago. It looked like it would be nice, but it sucked.
They had some good ideas, but the execution fizzled.

Just tune in to the Hallmark channel in the months of November and December every year.

The young actor in there looks like Héctor Jiménez who played the sidekick to Nacho Libre.

That's the thing, the movie had some real actors, but no se pudo..

I am a HUGE fan of the original "A Christmas Story".  I was skeptical about the sequel, but it is a lot more fun than the trailer suggests.  Give it a shot.  It does a decent job of capturing the feel of the first and still adds to the story.

I like the original so much that I have finished writing & recording a new song called "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out".  It will be released this week for free on a compilation digital album from Cigar Box Nation.  On the compilation, all the songs will be performed on, you guessed it, cigar box guitars!  On my song, I wrote it, played all of the instruments, performed all vocals, mixed & mastered it, and have now put together a lyric video that contains a photo montage from the movie.  When it is uploaded to YouTube, I will share it so everyone can see it.

How 'bout "Awful Christian Movies", heck of a lot more to choose from...

We could simply do "Awful Movies".  With the bulk of stinkers that Hollywood does, I think that they would have many more films that reek of stinkiocity.

By quantity yes, but not percentage...

It all depends on what is to be considered "Christian" movies.

I kinda like The Christmas Card.  Sure, the Marine can't act worth a darn, but I thought it was pretty good. 

Yeah, all the Hallmark Movies rate high on the Velveeta Scale, but IMO the worst are the one where Lauren Holly is a Broadway dancer and this one I saw that is set on a dude ranch.  These two guys fight the entire film, and then at the happy ending part (also known as "oh crap, we're almost outta time, let's wrap this up quickly!"), they decide to settle their differences over a glass of wine.  Yeah, big tough cowboy-types sipping wine and talking about their feelings.  I think Sally Struthers is in that one.

Not a movie, but years ago my husband found a youtube montage of old Christmas shorts and it has become a tradition to watch.  

 "Christmas comes but once a year" is just one of the clips.  

I think another clip has Dancer tap-dancing.

There are some w-e-i-r-d clips on it.

 I have never watched the entire thing.

I just checked the IMDB page for that movie and the actors are not mentioned.

Yes he looks like him, but it's not.
Osmond was born in 43, the movie came out in 47. The boy in the film looks to be at least 7. Osmond's first speaking role was at age 9.
