Scott Stapp

So the other day Scott Stapp (of Creed fame) posted a 15 minute video on his Facebook account how he was broke and homeless living in a Holiday Inn (it looks like he's since taken the video down).  I only watched a couple minutes of it, but today I went searching and see the internet talking about it.

I don't follow Scott and haven't paid much attention to his career. But what in the world is going on with this guy? Some of the claims he's made in the video sound far fetched.

He's created his own prison.

That's wild.  Literally in August I happened to catch him on the main stage at a festival here (with some friends -- I was there for Oh, Sleeper).  It was kind of wild, basically felt like I was watching a Creed cover band, as they did all the old Creed stuff.

Anyway, I'm not questioning anything and I know the industry can be very tough, but it's pretty surreal to go from literally a festival main stage to homeless that fast.  Has to be painfully humbling.

apparently his wife has filed for divorce and is seeking some sort of protective order to have him checked into a psych institution for drugs and mental issues.  Not pretty at all.....

I saw the video, and my first thought was, it reminded me of a coworker that was doing coke.

Seeing that he claims Christ, I pray that he works this all out.

I hope it doesn't turn into another Tim Lambesis-type episode.

I really feel for this guy..sounds like he needs help really bad. Mental health issues are not something to blow off or make fun of..its serious and the stigma needs to stop..I hope he gets the help he needs through medication and therapy...

Just because they aren't Stryper, doesn't mean you can question their Christianity too...

I really wish every thread wouldn't turn into a whine fest about the Theology section.

Stapp is a TI (targeted individual) - he is being gangstalked and having his finances messed with by the IRS, who have been targeting evangelicals for quite some time (and that's in mainstream news).

I doubt his religion has anything to do with any problems he is having with the IRS..

Or, like many other  "millionaire rock stars" drug habits, managers, and bad financial decisions have him owing some substantial back taxes.  His situation really isn't anything out of the ordinary for a musician of his previous fame level after his gravy train split up........

He's definitely made a mess of his life, but I am thankful that God is merciful and allowing Scott to get the help he needs.
