Thank God for Retroactive records... they're keeping a lot of this classic Christian metal alive.

Just remastered?
Haunts needs a remix more than anything.

Re: SACRAMENT ~ Retroactive Records Reissue 2014
Back in 1992 there were three ways to store recorded tracks:
1. analog tape
2. digital tape
3. computer hard disc drive
Any material on hard disc would have been mixed, transfered to tape and erased from the HDD to make space for new projects. Analog and digital tapes were expensive. To save tapes it was common to bounce several tracks onto one single tape in the recording / mixing process.
In most cases any tapes got erased after the mixing / mastering was finished.
The only thing that might have survived is the original mix.
The chances to find the original tracks for an album like that (=no major label rock'n'roll stars) are very, very, very small.
And if the material would have survived it's a lot of work (=very expensive) to transfer the tracks and remix them from scratch.
I can't remember any Christian metal album from the 80's or early 90's that got reissued REMIXED and remastered.

That's very disappointing but thanks for the explanation.

Haunts is a killer album, like Betrayal i wish they recorded more. Never been able to figure out what the cover is depicting though?

I still have the multi-track masters for all the stuff I recorded in the 1990s.
Never say never--The Pillars of Humanity got a full remix some 20 years later!

Re: SACRAMENT ~ Retroactive Records Reissue 2014
I have the originals, the demo, and the M8 stuff. Not sure about these, as a lot of "remasters" are just louder and actually lose dynamics. Any input hete?

These are not just LOUDER...shame on you for thinking I'd do something like that! These are both far superior when compared to the original releases. I'm quite proud of both.

When 'Testimony...' came out I remember how they were saying it was heavier than Vengeance. It did not disappoint.
I might get it.

I SO wish these would be available as digital downloads in lossless format. I have no need for physical discs but I do want that lossless quality

Just ordered Testimony. I'm psyched.
I gave away Haunts years ago-- I'm terribly curious about the remaster though!
