What's your favorite hair metal band that didn't hit the big time like Skid Row, Warrant, Motley Crue.

My favorite band i've found is:

Wildside
Hair Metal band that didn't hit big UndertheinfluencebywildsideHair Metal band that didn't hit big WildsideUnder_The_InfluenceTrasera

from start to finish this record smokes. Amazing vocals and guitars. Every song has a catchy chorus and the production is top notch. I also have some demo songs from them that are just as good. PM me if you're interested. I also have a "clean" edit for "hang on lucy" too.

Wiki says:
Wildside was an American Rock/Metal band created in 1988 by founders Brent Woods, Drew Hannah, Benny Rhynedance. Originally called "Young Gunns", the 5 piece lineup included Drew Hannah (vocals), Brent Woods (lead guitar), Benny Rhynedance (rhythm guitar), Marc Simon (bass guitar), Jimmy D. (drums). The group played the clubs of Hollywood from 1988 thru 1990 when they were signed to Capitol Records under the charge of Hale Milgram. Slated to be "the next big thing" by the label, they immediately began recording their album. The band chose Van Halen Producer, Andy Johns to create their record. Recorded at Eddie Van Halen's home studio, Wildside was historically the first outsiders to use the famed "5150" recording studio. After a 1992 release of "Under The Influence",and 2 years of solid touring, music was making a big change and Wildside was caught in the middle of it. Capitol Records was making changes to their lineup and both the label and the band agreed it was time to part. In 1994 a second album would be released under an independent label without Guitarist, Woods. Woods went on to join the Vince Neil project.

I love ROCK CANDY. i have demos that were supposed to be on their 2nd record too.

Beau Nasty is awesome. A lot of good songs on there.

I saw Sweat Cheater open for Winger a few years ago in Foxboro,MA and i got them immediately.

I have Shotgun Messiah too. "Heartbreak Blvd." is an absolute smoker!

I'll have to checkout Roughhouse and Marchello.

Here are a couple of local bands that never really rose to the ranks of fame.

Perennial (full on hair band)

Q5 (from their first and more "metal" album)

War Babies (came out in the era of grunge....never stood a chance)

Heir Apparent (more like slick prog-metal than hair metal)

This was a local band from Knoxville, TN called Sage. I went to high school with them. They were pretty big in East Tennessee. I saw them open for Bad Company, saw them numerous times at clubs and one of their last shows they opened for Bon Jovi. The guitarist, Travis Wyrick went on to produce Pillar and Disciple.

I'm not sure what would be considered "making it", but one of my very favorite bands from the 80's was Lizzy Borden.

I truthfully think that Shout as well as Rage of Angels should have went huge in the mainstream..To me Shout is the best and most professional looking Christian bands ever (even better than Stryper)...

I agree. While I like Stryper better, Shout was more commercial looking and sounding. Could have easily been on Top 40 and Rock radio during that time. And of course, ROA fell apart and the guys who left did have some commercial success with Steelheart.

Who is Tango Down? I don't remember them but they have a new album. I saw an ad for it and checked out the video. Are the a band from the 80's? I can't seem to really find any info on them, they are not on Wiki.
