On FB he posted she's in the hospital due to diabetes. Sounds like some family drama too so they could all use prayer.

I was wondering what was up with being at the hospital.  Thanks for that.

My sister had to be life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital on Tuesday due to prolonged low blood sugar (below 20).  Without glucose, the brain can be as severely damaged just like not having oxygen to the brain.  The docs warned us that, if she made it, she would not be the same.

After performing a 24 hour EEG and then an MRI on Friday, they gave us the results on Saturday afternoon.  Both medical teams were recommending that we pull the ventilator and move her into palliative care.  This was done around 7 PM last night.  My sister went home to be with Jesus this morning at around 6:15 AM.

She was so young.  While we all were in our 40s, my sister was the oldest at the young age of 48.  I have now lost most of my family:  my sister, both of my parents, and all my grandparents.  All I really have left now is my wife and my brother.  People, pull your loved ones around you tonight and show them you care.  Tell them you love them.  Life is too short not to.

So sorry to hear. It's trite but I know you find peace in Christ through this pain.

Keep me in your prayers, folks.  Today is the funeral and my adult niece is talking crap about her mom (my sister) at the funeral home.  I don't intend to listen to the ungrateful snot badmouth my sister and blame her for all the bad choices that my niece is making for herself.

There's nothing easy about that. I'll be praying for you, follow the Spirit is the best advice I think I can give. Don't give into her taunts, but I recognize none of us know the situation.

Been praying for you dude.  That is terrible what your niece is doing too, though perhaps that's just part of her way of grieving.  I'm praying for your entire family.

No, the niece was making these life choices before her mom ever got in this bad of shape.  She tried to taunt a few times today, but I just chose to ignore her.  Instead, I just used today as kind of a worship session thanking Jesus for giving me my sister and for saving her.  I even asked Him to please enjoy her as He's been waiting for her to come home longer than she has been waiting to meet Him.
