Dale Griffin, a drummer for British glam-rock stalwarts Mott the Hoople, has died at age 67.
He died Sunday, Peter Purnell, of Mott's label Angel Air Records, told the BBC. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a decade ago.

Reports seem to confirm the death of Dio/Rainbow/Wild Horses bassist JIMMY BAIN. More news when available. Jimmy was on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise with LAST IN LINE, who are about to issue their debut album.
This is yet another tragic loss to the hard rock community. R.I.P Jimmy.

Wow, did not know this but Jefferson Airplane had another female singer before Grace Slick. She was on the first album. Well, SHE died the same DAY as Paul Kantner:

Signe Anderson, Jefferson Airplane's original female vocalist who sang on the band's 1966 debut LP Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, passed away January 28th. Anderson was 74. No cause of death was provided, butPsychedelic Sight reports that Anderson had suffered health issues in recent years, while her former band mate Jack Casady said she recently entered a hospice facility. Anderson's death came the same day as her former band mate Paul Kantner, who passed away January 28th from multiple organ failure and septic shock.

BMX bike legend Dave Mirra — who once had the record for the most X Games medals — has died of an apparent suicide … TMZ Sports has learned. Cops say the 41-year-old’s body was found in his truck with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Mirra hosted 2 seaosns of “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” on MTV — and was the namesake of several BMX video games. Mirra also drove for Subaru rally car racing team.

80s pop singer Denise Matthews — far better known by her stage name, Vanity — has died at age 57 from kidney failure.
The singer and actress died Monday in a hospital in Fremont, Calif., the Bay Area city she called home.
