I wasn't sure if this forum already had a thread dedicated to this cause. Perhaps before the crash? I started up a thread just like this a couple few years ago elsewhere and sadly it took off with many people posting. Not trying to be morbid, just bringing public awareness to famous people we may have known about.

If you do contribute, please be ready to have a valid supporting link. As sometimes there are false rumors of high profile people dying.

Disabled ski champ Jill Kinmont Boothe dies at 75

Jill Kinmont Boothe, the skiing champion who became a painter and a teacher after she was paralyzed during a race and was the subject of a book and two Hollywood films, has died. She was 75.

I remember reading the book about her and the movie entitled “The Other Side of the Mountain” in 1975.

^ Me too. I saw him perform at a smallish venue in 1985. We were wow'd.
Also, he is the reason for Sammy's claim to fame.
