I saw a notable musician, who shall remain nameless, ask what the big deal with B.B. was. If you have to ask, you'll never get it.

The others may have been better players, but B.B. had a real personality that just pouted out in the music...

Looking through my Facebook feed last night was like looking through the obituaries--
Christopher Lee, Dusty Rhodes, Jim Ed Brown, Ornette Coleman.

I saw Charlie Daniels last night and he mentioned Jim Ed Brown and sang a very stirring rendition of "How Great Thou Art" in tribute.messiaen77 wrote:Looking through my Facebook feed last night was like looking through the obituaries--

Sort of. Though I'd say he was closer to James Bond ... at least the Roger Moore incarnation. More brains and sophistication as opposed to an a** kicker.

I just heard about Chris Squire. He and John Anderson were the only founding members. Chris was the only one on all studio albums dating back to 1968. He was one of the best bassists.

A professor played "Yes" in one of my classes. Thinking on it, screeching monkeys would've been more pleasant than that crap.
Um, this probably isn't the best place to say that, but I just had to say it. Hands down, awful. They were as appealing as Cake.

Re: The high profile person recently died thread
Actress Amanda Peterson. You young whipper-snappers will probably not know who she is but people my age remember her from "Can't Buy Me Love"
Amanda Peterson, actress whose best known for her role in Can’t Buy Me Love, has died at age 43. According to Greeley, Colorado police department, Peterson’s body was found alone in her apartment on Sunday. Investigators believe she died on Friday. The investigation is ongoing. Her mother said that she has had some heart issues.
Peterson’s first acting role was a dancer in the 1982 classic film Annie. She went on to star in several tv shows and big screen movies. She is best known for her role as Cindy Mancini, playing opposite Patrick Dempsey, in the 1987 romantic comedy Can’t Buy Me Love. Dempsey and Peterson play high school students who eventually fall for each other after Dempsey’s nerdy character pays Peterson’s popular cheerleader character to pretend to be his girlfriend.
From TMZ:
Amanda Peterson -- star of the flick "Can't Buy Me Love" -- has died at her home in Greeley, Colorado ... TMZ has learned.
We spoke with Peterson's father who tells us ... the family hadn't heard from 43-year-old Amanda since July 3rd and became concerned. Her body was finally discovered in her home on July 5.
As for cause of death, Peterson's father tells us they don't know the official cause of death -- but notes, "She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed."
We're also told Peterson had been dealing with several medical issues over the past 2 years -- including pneumonia, sinusitis and sleep apnea. Peterson's father also says she had been living in a home with mold issues ... but moved out about a year ago.
Peterson became a superstar playing Cindy Mancini opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 romantic comedy ... but she left the entertainment industry altogether in 1994 and had been living in Colorado for years.
We're told she went back to school several years ago -- but dropped out around 2010. Recently, we're told she had been trying to make it as a writer.
And a much less flattering picture from a mugshot, she is unrecognizable:
