Twilight Force, metal or not?

There's been some debate so I thought this was a good idea. Make sure you actually listen to a decent amount of their music before voting (you too Pethead!). I recommend the albums At the Heart of Wintervale and Dawn of the Dragonstar. I 100% think they are metal. They are a unique epic symphonic power metal.

I’ve heard them. If they are metal, nothing is metal anymore.

I still don't understand why you think they aren't? It's just melodic power metal with symphonic/orchestral elements and insane guitar solos. Can you at the very least agree that the guitar solos and drums are metal?

Only if the guitar solo on Michael W. Smith’s “Secret Ambition” is also metal.

I think the problem for you is that the orchestra is just so loud. So to you it sounds less metal, but to me who really likes the orchestra and is really paying attention to all of the instruments and can hear the guitar it sounds metal. That's my theory anyways. It's not as heavy as a lot of bands, that's true. But metal is about way more than just being heavy, a lot of modern bands forget about that.

I'm not saying that you think it's bad.

Can't see how they're not metal. The debut is very solid, albeit a bit overpowering with the symphonic elements.

Metal is just an attitude, man.

Guitar solo alone can't make something metal, otherwise "No Sleep til Brookln" is a metal song, and specifically thrash metal.

I disagree that metal is defined by riffs. Riffs can help determine that sub-genre though. I've done some research and apparently TF fans never really hear people claim they aren't metal. Just you guys!
