I am always up for a new Impellitteri...

I like many of their albums, though their best are certainly Wicked Maiden (underrated album), Venom and Nature of the Beast. Those are as good as Answer to the Master and Screaming Symphony.

I've seen Rob Rock singing live last year, he did a great job singing all of his single career classics.

My copy came today. I'm always stuck with high expectations, especially since The Nature of the Beast became my favorite album from the band. War Machine is definitely on the line of the last several albums. However, unlike TNOTB which had 4 tracks over 5 minutes (a notably different thing for Impellitteri), this album is back to the uniformly 3-4:30min range.

On my first few listens I'm enjoying it more than Wicked Maiden and Venom. Chris has somehow managed to capture a more muscular sound on these last couple albums. So many of the songs have meaty, chunky riffs underneath Rob's bridges and choruses. I also love that Chris continues to come up with new killer riffs despite the overall sound staying so similar. Superkingdom really sticks out in that way. The riff has an awesome forward groove and quite few times where James Pulli gets to play out all by himself. It's really different for the band but its definitely a surprise early favorite. I'm still digging in but I'm so happy with another great album. I don't think it will top TNOTB or the classics but it will hold itself up right there.

Waiting for my 2 CD Deluxe Edition to be delivered from Japan, I am listening on Spotify as I type this, and I love it! This one may end up being my second favorite from Impellitteri right behind Grin And Bear It. This new one is really great!!

I got the Japanese edition as well so hopefully yours isn't far behind. I was surprised mine showed up so quick. This definitely gets better with each listen.

You can hear Rob's voice has changed but I like it has a little more grit. Not sure where I'll rank it but already think it's better than the last couple.

I just got on to say this. I'm kind of disappointed because I already own that CD. I opened the box my CD was in and saw that it was just Live, Fast Loud and my first thought was "Well Darn!!"

I finally was able to listen to it and I love it! Currently (after only one listen), I think it's my 2nd favorite Impelliteri album behind SS and EOTH. It's heavier than I was expecting. The choruses are awesome. Chris shreds (obviously).

On my first listen and it’s just not hitting me as I had hoped. It’s solid and the performances are expectedly awesome. But it just isn’t doing it for me in the same way as albums like G&BI and AttM do. I like the songwriting and hooks better on those 90s albums.

This one might grow on me more, of course.
