-Impellitteri - War Machine 11-8-24

No details yet but I was happy to see an October release date. Apparently, this will be released on Frontiers. Rob Rock sounded great on the recent Martin Simson's Destroyer of Death album so that is a good sign. I think their last 3 albums have been good, but my favorite era of the band is early to mid 90's. Let's hope for another great late career album!

Still one of my favorite bands. I thought Nature of the Beast was/is their best but still am generally an Answer to the Master through Eye of the Hurricane man. Those three albums are essentially flawless.

I've only listened to Eye Of The Hurricane and Screaming Symphony, but I freaking love those albums. Chris is a phenomenal guitarist, I think only Michael Angelo Batio can play faster than him. Excited for the new album!

I love the Answer, Screaming, Eye and Crunch.  I think those 4 albums were a brilliant run of songs.

I have more Impellitteri albums than any other band. Arguably the best start-to-finish discography ever. Pedal to the Metal being the zenith, of course!

Outstanding track as always. I wish I could hate on the lyrics but they've always done tracks like that and I still eat it up anyway.

I love Crunch. It has some of their absolute best material but there are a few tracks I don't really care for. I'm also not big on the goofy voice overs in some of the best tracks.

Rob Rock’s voice has a little more grit than usual.

Yeah, the voice stuff and just some of the weird sound effects ruined Crunch for me. I never heard the details why Rob Rock left I always thought the updated sound was the reason. I like what he did with his solo band but I did not care for Impellitteri again till Wicked Maiden.

Chris Impelliteri is the most underrated shredder. The guy is just as good (if not better than Malmsteen). 

He definitely is more metal than Yngwie!

One piece of that was having a keyboard player in the mid to late 90's. Ed Roth was still useful for the more neoclassically bent material (that was still there on Crunch) but the heavier material (more in line with metal at the time) having "spooky" Scooby-Doo keyboards on it and fo-hip-hop record scratching was terrible. Tough times to be a keyboard player in the mid to late 90's outside of prog metal.

I think this first single sounds amazing.  I look forward to hearing more.

I drool over his guitar playing. I'd sell my soul...OK, I'd never do that! But, man, his shredding is SO awesome!
