This is Monty Colvin and Alan Doss from Galactic Cowboys.

I need to get a copy. Monty’s bass is so great!

Man, the drama that went down in this band.  Monty tells stories for days on end on his podcast about it and discusses which Galactic songs are about the experience.  I'm surprised this re-release happening.

I just went over to Boones and bought The Awful Truth reissue. I also got the Deliverance - Camelot in Smithereens Redux (it’s on sale for just $8 bucks!)

Speaking of Monty and The Awful Truth, I see that one of the topics on his newest episode of his podcast is about that band.

The music is pretty darn good. Not quite as great as GC , but very good!

Scored my copy too.  A most underrated, rocking album.

Normally I ignore remasters.  This one though will really benefit from a remaster.

The original, while good, is much too trebly.

The remaster is worth getting. Monty’s bass slaps.

Yeah, he plays with a pick.  Learn your GC lore, mythos, and mythology before speaking (posting).

Just got into this and beating myself for not checking sooner. It’s anessential missing link between King’s X and Galactic Cowboys.

I got the album a few days ago…

The music is good and the remaster helps, but one thing that I don’t like all that much is the lead vocals. David the singer had a bit of a lackluster voice. He sounds like an average joe singing in the shower. 

It makes me appreciate Ben Huggins from GC a lot! 

But it’s still a cool album to own because its the blueprint to the early GC sound.

hm…to me Awful Truth’s singer sounds awfully like Doug Pinnick. Not awful by any means, but maybe a bit unoriginal for the style.

Doug Pinnick has a powerful and loud voice. He can let it rip with all the bells and whistles. 

In comparison, David sounded like he wasn’t confident and just tried to keep up. It was a good thing that Monty and Alan’s backup vocals were blended in and constant. Without them, it would have been much more bland.

Like I said… I like the music, but the lead vocals don’t grab me. 

I rate it a 6.5 or 7 (on a scale of 10)

That’s why i compared David’s vocals to Frank Hart/AO. 

While not bad by any means… their voices don’t shine or have anything special going on. 

I love Ben Huggins’ voice! He can sing like a bird or really get aggressive and go for it!

I didn’t mean to be harsh… but i had to speak the awful truth.
