I agree it (NOTW) is consistently their best album. However, MPTY is my favorite album by them. They have many very good albums though.

Steven, to be fair, I need to listen to it again. I owned Learn when I was in high school in the mid '90's. And I listened to it once a few years ago after I read Angelic Warlord's review. But there's about 25 years in between all of that!

What don't I like? I think it was unnatural for them to write a slower album and they just didn't hit it. The songwriting, arrangements and mixing sound awkward to me, like a country band being forced to write a symphony or an orchestra leading worship in church for the first time, or a speed metal band making a hard rock album...oh wait, that's what happened!

I don't think there's anything glaringly wrong; it just sounds like they need to have played and written slower music for another few years before they made an album of it.

Okay, that makes sense. I agree that you should listen again. Obv if you still don't like it that's your opinion and that's fine. I think that album has some of the best atmosphere I've ever heard.

Rescue is a good song, but I agree with Jimmy that it wouldn’t really have fit on Weapons.

True, and I understand why they didn't include it. Maybe they should have rerecorded that song instead of Weapons for Stay of Execution?
