Albums that wasted a great sound
What are some albums where almost every song sounds like a weak song from a great album? I can't think of any, but I'm curious what y'all will say

Like, good sound (or good potential sound), but just meh songs? Anima Mortuum - Goat Destruction. I don't like black metal but this isn't bad. The songs just don't stick with me though, they don't sound different enough from each other. If they had a clearer verse - chorus progression or something like that then it would be better. And I feel bad saying this but, Hardwired... To Self-Destruct - Metallica. The sound is great but the album is only above L, RL, and St. Anger on my album ranking.

Hardwired's a pretty good choice, though Spit out the Bone and Confusion are bangers. (And that's also the correct place to rank it)

Those two are great. MIF, H, DNM, and AIS? are also greatStevenCressler wrote:Hardwired's a pretty good choice, though Spit out the Bone and Confusion are bangers. (And that's also the correct place to rank it)

Disciple - Scars Remain
Possibly their most brutal album, but aside from Game On, Someone, and Dive, most of the songs are kind of mid (Fight for Love is pretty good to)

Oh. Death Magnetic. You may think I'm crazy but just listen. This is kinda the reverse I guess. Sound that wasted a great album. Amazing songs, 2nd best album since TBA... TERRIBLE PRODUCTION/MASTERING.

Yes, if it sounded better it would be a closer #4. Still #4, bc I think RtL, MoP, and AJFA are all way above anything else they've doneChristian Thrash Rules wrote:Oh. Death Magnetic.
