9 Great Rock And Metal Albums From The 90's
The 90's popular music scene was at times interesting, but often times it was a bit confusing. This was especially true of Rock And Roll, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. That said, here are 9 fantastic albums from the 90's.

I am not familiar with the music of Iced Earth.

Some interesting opinions in that piece. Iona was an interesting choice. He was spot on with the analysis of Queen's Innuendo. I love that album. It's fitting that they put out quite possibly their best album before they were finished after Freddie died.

I do agree bout Tourniquet on this list but thats about it, Iona sounds familiar i might have a cd kicking around
but i would have included
Foo Fighters - ST
Deliverance - Weapons of our Warfare
Garbage Version 2.0
Scott Weiland - 12 Bar Blues
just my opinion I am sure everybody would have a diff list

Re: 9 Great Rock And Metal Albums From The 90's
I thought there were a lot of great albums in the 90's.
Conception's "Parallel Minds" comes to mind,
Dream Theater "Images & Words,"
Sacred Warrior "Obsessions,"
Queensryche "Empire,"
Kings X "Dogman,"
Cynic "Focus,"
Believer "Sanity Obscure,"
Galactic Cowboys "Space In Your Face,"
Bruce Dickenson "Chemical Wedding,"
Entombed "Clandestine,"
Holy Soldier s/t,
Mortification "Scrolls Of The Megilloth,"
POD "Satellite,"
Deliverance "Learn,"
Guardian "Miracle Mile,"
It would be hard for me to narrow the list down to 9.
Suffice it to say, even though traditional metal went underground for the most part and metal branched out into many new permutations, there was still plenty of good music to be found in all genres.

Metallica's Black Album also would be a contender for me.

No love for Queensryche?
The only band I really enjoyed from those listed in the article.

Love me some Queensryche and they put out two of their best albums in the 90's (Empire & Promised Land). They also released two other albums that likely didn't make anyone's top ten lists.

There was some good stuff, Iced Earth is one with groups like Rage, Blind Guardian, Running Wild.....seems like a lot of it was from Europe.

Re: 9 Great Rock And Metal Albums From The 90's
I'll throw in 9 albums if I may which I do consider all fit within the Rock spectrum. My taste in music changed a lot in the 90's and I started to listen to all types of bands.
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Dinosaur Jr - Where You Been
Bob Dylan - Time out of Mind
Paw - Dragline
Blur - Parklife
Straitjacket Fits - Blow
Temple of the Dog - ST
Galactic Cowboys - Space in Your Face
Marcy Playground - ST
